Crafting
There are 6 workshops used to craft weapons and armor.

The Crafter will be your first location to acquire a weapon, the spear. I highly recommend equipping each colonist with a spear.

The Weaver will be the first place you can equip your colonists with armor.

The Bowyer is the third early weapon workshop which creates throwable weapons.

The Jeweler creates necklaces, rings, and trinkets. Which have defensive values.

Metal Working
The last two workshops require metal in order to use them.

The Weaponsmith creates strong metal weapons using smelted metal.

The Weaponsmith creates strong metal armor using smelted metal.
Arming your Colonists
In order to survive in Embark you must be able to fight off mob attacks. The best way to do this is to arm a majority of your colonists to aid in battle.

Inventory
Click on a colonist and select 'Items' in order to assign weapons and armor to different colonists.

Armor and Heavy Weapons will only be equipped when the colonists squad is told to wear equipment.
Assembling a Squad
Putting together a well thought out squad can increase your combat effectiveness.

I have created my squads based on 2 different things.
  • Job
  • Strength Level

Job
I have 3 squads in my world. Each squad is divided up based on how essential their job is.
For example, my cook, my brewer, and my top doctors all are in a squad together so they are pretty much never sent out.

On the other hand, jobs that the colony don't rely on for survival are sent out more often.

Strength Level
The stronger a colonist is the more damage they will deal to enemies.
Command
Commanding your colonists is not typically needed when defending your base. Typically colonists will auto agro onto incoming attackers.

Sending Troops
Opening the military menu by clicking the sword in the top left will allow you to decide where to send your colonists.
Colonists can be sent 1 by 1 or clicking the squad box will select the entire squad.
Hostile Camps
Hostile Camps can be found in the 'Factions' panel on the right side of the screen.
Hostile camps are any faction that are hostile to you. This starts as flies and spiders but can also expand to other colonies depending on your politics.
Fly hostile camps look like big bee hives.
Clearing hostile camps reap rewards which typically include research artifacts.
Destroy a hostile camp by sending a squad of colonists and killing anything in the area.
This included some random monkeys in my first attempt.
Hospitals
Hospitals in Embark are rooms with beds that are labeled as hospital beds through the menu after you click on them.

    A Few Tips
  • I put my hospital close to the front of my base for easier access as colonists will have to carry the wounded here.
  • Assigned doctors will feed and treat injured colonists here.
  • Ensure you have a constant supply of bandages
Other Guides & Thank You
Please leave any feedback on my guides as I only know that they work if you tell me.
I have really been enjoying Embark and there aren't a lot of guides so I thought I would make some.

Also, thank you for clicking on my guide, I spend a decent amount of time on these and I hope it helped.
