Getting started.
In this guide I will show you how to enable and use dev mode in Rimworld to spawn in anything you could possibly need or want. To do so in a colony you’ve previously played make your way into the save game and pull up the pause menu, from there go to options, general and tick the box that says “Development mode” . you can also do this from the main menu which is enable a new option called “Dev quicktest”. That option will take you into the standard crashlanded scenario on a random tile fairly quickly (hence quicktest) for asome speedy fun.
Once you’ve done either of those options and entered a game, you’ll see a new menu at the top middle of your screen, those are your dev commands. This guide is only going to focus on three of those options, rather than all of them.
The Debug actions menu
The first option we will be looking at it is the Debug actions menu.

This menu allows you do all manner of things but what we are interested in right now is how to spawn things in. To do so move on over to the spawning tab or type in “spawn” in the search bar in the top right. This allows you to spawn in pretty much anything. From pawns to items to animals and anything in-between. Give it a go and see what sort of mischief you can get into.

Dev palette
The next thing we are going to look at is the dev palette.

Toggling this will bring a dialog box in the top left of the screen, currently its empty. To put something in there open up the debug actions menu and click on one of the push pins. That will add that item to the palette for easy access. You can right click on it to move it around

As an example here are some happy colonists

the kill command unpinned

the kill command pinned

the kill command in the dev palette

and now the same colonists...napping...

God mode
The final item we are going to talk about is God mode.

This isn’t necessarily your typical god mode as in other games where you (or in this case your pawns) can not be killed. They can Indeed still die but you can erase their injuries

Adjust their needs

and even resurrect them in a truly God like fashion.

i told you they were just napping.

This works also with animals, insects, and mechanoids.

You can also build anything for free and instantly. This includes buildings and items from mods as well. Research is also free in dev mode by default and instant so if you don’t see an item you want to have made from the work benches you’ve just made check and see if you need to acquire the required research.

Thank you
That’s pretty much it for this guide, thank you so much for taking the time to read this guide and I hope it was helpful.

Yes you should be able to spawn in modded items as well. They should be in the list of spawnable items but it depends on the mods.

Wow thank you so much. Does this work for mods aswell. I think that it would but I'm not sure
