The Ultimate Support Warlock Guide

How to become the Ultimate Support Warlock for your fireteam.

Intro

This guide will show you how to build the Ultimate Support Warlock for dungeons and raids. For this build we will be using the Dawnblade subclass and will focus on buffing weapon damage and getting your Well of Radiance super & Healing Grenades back asap. Your teammates will love having you on the fireteam.

Abilties

Throw to instantly heal yourself and your team as well as putting on the Restoration buff which heals over time. You are going to be using this a lot.



Another heal to help your team around you, use this while your heal grenade is on CD



Best jump to move around quicker



A useful mid-long range melee skill that does decent damage and lights enemies on fire for damage over time



Your ultimate ability. Puts down a large area heal and damage buff for your team, you will basically be invincible while inside. Use this so your fireteam can stand in while it's a boss damage phase.

Aspects

This will give your healing grenades the Restoration x2 buff for more healing done



This will give you an extremely useful dash move while in the air so you can move around faster and get to cover quicker

Fragments

This fragment will make it so every time you use your charged melee ability and hit an enemy, it will give you and your fireteam a damage buff



Increased duration for your heals and damage buff



Healing and buffing your team lowers your cooldowns so you can heal and buff more often



This fragment makes it so every time u kill an enemy with a Solar weapon or ability, it adds time to your Restoration x2 and Radiant buffs

Gear

This is what you are going to want your stats to look like. Aim for 100 Resilience first to get the full damage reduction, and then go for 100 Discipline after so you can reduce the CD of your healing grenade even more.



Phoenix Protocol is the exotic we are going to be wearing for this build. Getting kills and assists while standing inside your Well of Radiance gives super energy back. A lot back. This exotic will allow you to use your ultimate over and over again during a boss fight.



For mods you want to use ones that reduce grenade and super cool downs so you can spam your heals and ultimate even more

Weapons

You are gonna want to mostly use Solar weapons with this build so you can proc your Ember of Empyrean fragment as much as possible which extends your Restoration x2 and Radiant buffs with Solar kills.

Calus Mini-Tool, BXR-55 Battler, Explosive Personality, Retraced Path are all great choices.



Make sure your finisher move is Solar-based too cause it will proc Ember of Empyrean as well



Witherhoard is an amazing kinetic special Exotic that goes very well with a primary like Calus Mini-Tool.



Divinity is very good support special Exotic that allows your team to do more damage as you use this weapon on an enemy to create a huge crit point.



Gjallarhorn is a Solar heavy Exotic that buffs your team's rocket damage, very useful if your fireteam are all using Hothead or Bump in the Night so you can buff their damage with the Gjally.

Summary

To summarize this build in a few sentences, you are going to want to start by using your Celestial Fire on an enemy to grant Radiant to you and your fireteam for the damage buff. Drop a Healing Grenade by you and your team while you continue to kill enemies with your Solar weapons to continuously add more and more time to both Restoration x2 and Radiant buffs thanks to the Ember of Empyrean fragment. This will make it so you and your fireteam are continuously getting healed as well at constantly having a damage buff as long as you keep killing enemies with Solar weapons or abilities. Use your Healing Rift while your healing grenade is on cooldown to shorten the cooldown of your grenade with the help of Bomber mods if you have it equipped on your class armor. When your super is ready and its time for the Boss damage phase, drop it in a good position so your whole team is standing in it and you guys have a clear line of sight to the boss. After your super is finished, you should almost be if not already be ready to drop it again thanks to Phoenix Protocol. Rinse and repeat until boss is dead. Your fireteam will love you for the constant heals, damage buffs, and quick supers.

If you're gonna use the phoenix protocol, it might be smart to embrace another super filling exotic in here... Bad Juju. With Divinity, you can use Cenotaph Mask... and occasionally switch Divinity out for The Navigator to give that woven mail buff to allies.

There are a few other good combos you can use: Lumina/Boots of the assembler, Aeon soul/vigilance wing, and Lunafaction boots go well with just about any weapon since you get faster reloads and double damage falloff distance in the well.

Solar Warlocks got so shafted imo. Taking away the *option* to make me grenade a healing one really hurt. Better off playing a titan with Phoenix Cradle and sharing your sunspots. Maybe this is better in GMs, but for the average PvE content, a Phoenix Cradle Titan is more useful simply because they can grant restoration without needing to lose their grenade.

Titan better
