How To Get a Rocket Launcher!

Do you despise of your fellow robotic friends or one of those pesky turrets that always pelt you with bullets? Look no further as this guide teaches you how to nab a portable rocket launcher in Portal 2!

The Introduction

Hi there,

Welcome to my first ever guide! This will teach you how to get a rocket launcher in Portal 2 using some very simple commands! What are you gonna do with the rocket launcher? I honestly don't know go wreck havoc in some co op game or something. Anyways, here are the steps to create the rocket launcher.

Step One: Accessing the Developer Console

First, you wanna access the options. To do this, you can either go to it from the main menu or during a chamber



Then, you wanna go to Keyboard / Mouse.



After that, you wanna enable the Developer Console right at the bottom!



Great job, you have now enabled the Developer Console!!

Step Two: Commands

For the next step, you open the developer console by pressing ` and enable cheats by typing in this command,

sv_cheats 1



Doing this will allow the next commands we do to work! Such as the command that allows us to fire the rocket,

fire_rocket_projectile



Wait, isn't that the end right?? There's a rocket right there!!!




It isn't. We still have to bind this command so we can fire this at any time to truly make it a rocket launcher and fire it at our lovely friends.

Step Three: Creating the Rocket Launcher

Now you might think, man!, this is gonna be real hard innit, but it actually isn't. With one very simple command, you can now shoot rockets at any game session if they have cheats enabled. Here is what you need to type in the console,

bind [key here] fire_rocket_projectile


(note that here i chose the bind key as r, you can use any key you want to bind)

And there you go, you have acquired a rocket launcher in Portal 2.

By the way I'm pretty sure this works for any other Portal 2 mod on Steam or ModDB. Though I haven't tried so you guys will probably have to let me know.




Also, if you ever wanna undo this for whatever reason, type in this command,

unbind [key here]


(i put my rocket launcher key as r so i unbinded r here)

Energy pellets DO appear, but you need BeeMod. Also, these aren't the HL2 rockets, they're the Rocket Turret projectiles, reused from Portal 1.
