Part 1: Playing with Harald SGC
Step 1: Open menu, equipment, pick Harald CGS, unequip, equip Claymore.
Step 2: You are wonderful. Your build is now 40% stronger, keep it up!
Step 3: Unequip Claymore, equip Pontiff Knight Cureved Sword.
Step 4: Wow, you are now wielding the strongest PvP weapon in the game, let's go to the Pontiff Plaza.
Step 5: Hmmm......
Step 6:

Step 7: Oh wait! If you read this guide it means you don't even understand why Harald is a bad weapon! No surprise you are unable to kill anyone with the strongest weapon this game can offer.
Let's return to step 2.
Part 2: Playing with Claymore
Step 1: Make sure you have 40 poise.
Step 2: Make sure your stats are optimal or close to optimal. This means at least 44 vigor, 34-36 endurance, 66 str or 30/30 fth/int.
Step 3: Use optimal armour.
Step 4: Use these rings: Prisoner's Chain/Havel, Favor +3, Life +3. The rest is your preference
Step 5: You see an attack press R1. Then press R1 again.
Step 6: If your opponent has heavier weapon - don't trade, Stay out of range and hit them after they attack. They can't do anything because after an attack they are in recovery animation. This is called spacing. It is the most important skill in the game, so you should practice it a lot.
Step 7: Do not attack first vs lighter weapons. They can outspace you.
Step 8: Do not do running attacks. They are easy to punish.
Step 9: Trade lighter weapons, space heavier weapons. Easy, right?
Step 10: Use charged R2 to hit your opponent after they roll and unable to move (in recovery frames). This is called rollcatch. You can also rollcatch with R1
Step 11: Play unlocked.
Step 12: Wow! You have just understood pvp basics! Let's move to part 3!

Part 3: Playing with Gotthard Straight Swords
Step 1: Make a new build, you will have to use slightly lighter armour and can increase stamina up to 40.
Step 2: Use Black Knight Shield in left hand and one Gotthard in right hand.
Step 3: Don't listen to anyone telling you Lothric is better.
Step 4: Outspace any weapon, rollcatch with R1 and R2. Don't do running attacks, Don't run at all. Just stand close to the enemy but out of their reach so you can punish their attacks.
Step 5: Use shield to block any attacks that you can't dodge on reaction. Don't come too close to your enemy. Shield is a safety measure, not an unbreakable wall.
Step 6: Dodge only on reaction. If they bait you, you will be punished.
Step 7: Play on Pontiff until you find a dude in ugly heavy armour who will kill you in less than 20 seconds.

Step 8: Add him to friends and tell them your elder brother will kick his ass and is calling him to a Best of 9.
Step 9: Watch closely what they do and think about why they hit you. Learn from your mistakes, don't do anything that will lead you to defeat.
Step 10: Try to copy their playstyle and understand why it is effective.
Step 11: Repeat steps 7-10 until you git gud.
Step 12: Join tryhard discord server, fight only strong opponents, learn their techniques and follow their playstyle.
Step 13: Grab PKCS and beat the sheet out of them.

Part 4: Playing with Harald CGS
Step 1: Win a tournament with your favourite setup.
Step 2: Make sure all strong players are offline.
Step 3: Go to pontiff.
Step 4: Become bored because everyone is too weak and can't kill you even when you play with Claymore.
Step 5: Grab Harald CGS.
Step 6: They are still weak, kill them with broken Handmaid's Dagger in your offhand.
Step 7: Too boring. Uninstall the game.
