War Sapphire (aka War Beta Pearl)

Sapphire was just another Octoling in the Domes, back when the Surface War was fresh in everyone's minds. Like the others she was born and raised as an engineer of war, creating the various machines designed to breach the surface and get out of the hell that was the Domes. It was there where she met Marina Ida, fellow engineer and head of the "Fl0-0D" project. They would form a bond, perhaps even a romance, but when the Sisters sang their song, Marina fled to the surface...and Sapphire didn't.

For the next few years, Sapphire would see firsthand how deep Octavio's rage went after his defeat. How he treated those he considered to have failed him, and the Sister's idol when she was captured and enslaved. The second time an Agent decided to take the fight to their wretched master, Sapphire finally decided to flee, and yearned to meet up with Marina on the surface. Instead, she saw her in a studio, in love with one of the Inkling scum they had worked so hard to stamp out!

The rage of being forgotten and left behind after all of that suffering broke Sapphire, and finally turned her. She was determined to get revenge on Marina in any way possible, and her choice? Using her knowledge from the Domes to build psychotic animatronics made in her and the other idols' images. She had tried to kill off Marina's adopted daughter, Ve, and seemingly perished in flames when the Squidbeak came knocking.

But the body was...never found...
