Best Custom Maps (+ How to Install Them)

This guide will briefly detail some of the best custom maps available for Ready or Not.

Preface

You can either use the in-game Mod.io service to download custom maps OR download the maps directly from NexusMods. I personally prefer NexusMods as there is more variety available so this guide is solely for mods available there.

CUSTOM MAPS ARE CURRENTLY BUGGED

Due to the Adam hotfix on 20 DEC 2022, custom maps are currently bugged and will display bright green squares randomly throughout the map. To fix this, follow my guide HERE:

How to install custom maps

Custom maps downloaded via NexusMods will be in the .pak file format. Simply drag & drop (or copy/cut & paste) the .pak file into the "Paks" folder found within the Ready or Not installation folder.
This usually looks something like this:

HOUSE ARREST

Actually 2 maps in one, a daytime and a night-time one, focussed around a small suburban home. The daytime one is pretty cool ‘cause someone can act as a sniper and sit in the house across the street and take out suspects through the windows while the other guys go in on foot.

NEPTUNE SPEAR

Ever wanted to recreate the attack on Osama Bin Laden’s compound? Now you can.
Make sure you dump all the bodies in the ocean afterwards so nobody can confirm or deny your story.
(also bring NVGs because it’s dark as balls)

FOREST HOUSE (CURRENTLY BROKEN)

Really cool night-time map with a lot of destructible props, really atmospheric.

METRO STATION

Atmospheric map with a lot of attention to detail. Two areas to clear so perfect for 2 teams to split up.

MANSION INTRUSION

Resident Evil-style creepy mansion with lots of tight corridors and multiple floors. Very atmospheric.

DOWNTOWN 22nd STREET

Tiny map that has lots of places to be ambushed from. Roughly 3 different interiors that you need to scour to find the suspects & civvies.

LUSTFUL REMORSE

Really cool map that has a lot of neon lights. Mixes a stripclub with a bar and restaurant and has multiple routes through the map for teams who want to split up. Also has a cool custom scripted moment near the 'end' of the map that I won't spoil.

SUPER-A CLUB

Huge nightclub with multiple entrances and floors, ideal for multiple teams to split up. Lots of hidey-holes for civvies so make sure to stay frosty and watch your sectors.

WENDERLEY HEIGHTS MOTEL

Lead a police siege against a motel. Very small map but sniping the suspects inside their motel rooms is fun.

MO MONEY MO PROBLEMS

Lay siege to a bank. Clear the lobby, upper office areas and then finally descend into the vault.

Credits

All maps tested on JAN 6th 2023. The Adam hotfix on DEC 20th 2022 messed up custom maps and ruined the decal thing, so hopefully a hotfix will address this soon.

so where do the maps show up in game? just in the regular missions tab when i go to select one in the station?

When i run any custom map my gloves dissappear and my ai teammates are just heads with a floating west. Nay way to fix this

how many custom maps can you use at the same time? If you use a custom map ai, is it used for other custom maps, too - or only for the map named like the ai, f.e.: pakchunk99-Mods_GoldenGooseCasino_AIConfig_P.pak ?

oh i see it now.. I thought it was just line to show you where the custom maps sit. Thank you very much.

I definitely had more than 10 maps installed and I could play all of them. A little scrollbar should appear underneath that you can use to sidescroll through the maps.

Question: I've added at least 8-10 new custom maps but only 6 show up at bottom right in the missions map. Had to play some and then delete to play the others. It 6 the max for now or is there another way to show up?
