How to unlock "Boss Rush" and other cheat codes

How to unlock "Boss Rush", "Survival Horror" and various other cheat codes you can do using your PS/XBOX controller!

Hey, my name is Maeve. Here's a quick short guide showing all the cheat codes you can activate in this beautiful game.

Remember, these cheat codes need to be activated at the "Press Start button" screen or else they probably won't work.

Cheat codes

Here's a list of all the cheat codes you can activate using a PS/XBOX controller. All cheats must be input on the game's title screen to take effect. Excluding the Sound Check Level code (which must be input on the level select screen), and the Noble Sacrifice code (which must be input during gameplay)

As a NeoStrayCat stated in the comments: "Extra Game Modes" already have Boss Rush, Survival Horror, Battle Royal, and Dodge Ball available from the start, So you don't need to input them but you can still do it if you want :)

Name	Cheat Code	Effect
Change coins into animals.	Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up	As the title says, turns coins into animals
Allow two players to select the same character	Xbox - Down, RB, Up, LB, Y, B PS - Down, R1, Up, L1, Triangle, Circle	Both you and the other player can choose the same character (crazy right?)
More blood	Xbox - A, B, A, X, A, B, B PS - X, Circle, X, Square, X, Circle, Circle	Just more blood
Boss Rush	Xbox - Right, Right, B, RB, Right, Right, B, RB PS - Right, Right, Circle, R1, Right, Right, Circle, R1	Unlocks Boss Rush mode
Survival Horror	Down, Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Right, Right	Unlocks Survival Horror mode
Sound Check Level	Xbox - LB, LB, LB, RB, RB, RB, LB, RB PS - L1, L1, L1, R1, R1, R1, L1, R1	Unlocks Joseph's room (sound check) (Needs to be in Stage Select)
Begin every level with Power of Love	Xbox - X, X, X, A, B, Y PS - Square, Square, Square, X, Circle, Triangle	Start every level with the Power of Love sword
Noble Sacrifice (While in a level)	Xbox - Hold A and tap Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B PS - Hold X and tap Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle	Gives $50 at the cost of one life (selling your soul basically)

I'd try the XBOX code for noble sacrifice since there isn't PS4 support, let me know if it works!

If noble sacrifice didn't work your controls might have been like the switch version so it might have been Hold B, Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A

It does, I already have my X360 Afterglow controller plugged in.

Also, the "Extra Game Modes" already have Boss Rush, Survival Horror, Battle Royal, and Dodge Ball available from the start, so the codes are unnecessary, even though you can still input them.

And just like the current gen console versions, the code to play as the same character in multiplayer either doesn't work anymore, or is disabled completely. (Unless there would be a way to restore it via modding or otherwise.)
