SBB Platform Network

Description
Description

A series of station platforms, inspired by those found in stations across Switzerland operated by the Swiss Federal Railway SBB CFF FFS. These networks require the Adaptive Networks mod, to allow you to use all the different variations, and enable the integrated props.

The model dimensions are based on Zarrix's Italian Station Platforms and should work seamlessly alongside them.

Pack Contents

The pack contains two networks, which when combined with Adaptive Networks allows for 60 different variations:
  • SBB Platform Network - A two-sided, 8m wide platform
  • SBB Platform Network (Half) - A single-sided, 4m wide platform

Adaptive Networks

With the Adaptive Networks mod, you get access to the following options to allow you to tweak the network's look to your preference.

Surface Texture
  • Old Asphalt - Based on Zürich Hauptbahnhof Main Terminal
  • New Asphalt - Based on Bahnhof Aarau
  • Concrete Tiles - Based on Bahnhof Chur
  • Granite Tiles - Based on Zürich Flughafen Bahnhof
  • Marble Tiles - Based on Zürich Hauptbahnhof S-Bahn Terminal

Edge Style
  • Clean - Based on Zürich Hauptbahnhof S-Bahn Terminal
  • Weathered - Based on Zürich Hauptbahnhof Main Terminal
  • Rough Stone - Based on Bahnhof Sargans

Platform Height
  • Standard Entry
  • Low Entry

Props
All of the prop dependencies listed to the right are optional. The only required dependency is Adaptive Networks. Once subscribed, the props can be enabled individually with Adaptive Networks.
  • Platform Displays
  • Trash Cans
  • Timetable
  • Benches
  • Interactive Displays
  • Lights
  • Clock
  • Ashtray

For the half/single-sided network, there are two lists of props. The second list is to be used when the network is inverted.

End Caps
Currently only available on full-width network.
If either end of the segment is an end node, checking this box will add an end cap prop to the end of the segment.

Underpass
Currently only available on full-width network.
If either end of the segment is a bend or custom node, checking this box will add an underpass prop to the end of the segment.

To enable underpasses, choose a node on which you want the underpass to appear, and use Node Controller or Node Controller Renewal to set the node type to "Bend", and set an offset of 4m. Then choose a segment either side, and check the "Underpass" box in Adaptive Networks segment flags. The stairs of the underpass will be facing the segment with the flag enabled.

@jonashelmke.gl - I have the same issue, and the only solution that I found so far was to use Ultimate Level Of Detail mod and set Network LOD DIstance from default 1000m to 2000m-4000m.

So I guess I'm SOL with my issue there? That's a shame.

Adding on to my previous comment, it looks like the networks are missing textures for an entire LOD for me. The standard texture actually completely disappears on zooming out, leaving only a shadow-y line, while the other textures just go completely low-res. This only affects the full variant, the half-sized platforms work fine. I got these mainly for their amazing looking underpass option, but don't have any use here as long as they behave like this...

These look so nice and useful, but I'm having a major LOD issue with them. They jump to a very, very low one after zooming out just very slightly - long before anything else switches LOD levels. Any idea what could be up with that?

@molovo Thank you! Nice work

@Posghetti the latest update fixes the default platform direction, and should also allow the platforms to be inverted using Network Multitool's "Invert Segment" function. They aren't currently able to be inverted using the Parallel Road tool, but I'll keep trying to get that working. For now, you can just place and then invert after they've been placed.

@StayHungryStayFoolish that’s good to know, thanks

After the update, the notice of "Outside Connection" from LSMR is gone. Thx.

Nice, I hope you find something out and do an update if you find anything. Just to be sure I did try again today and yeah I can't get the platforms to face the tracks using NMT. Just to be sure I should say that Italian platforms behave the same it's just that the italian ones have the edge in the opposite direction of the SBB platforms. Basically if you go L->R SBB platforms point down while the italian ones point up.

@Posghetti you should be able to, using NMTs Invert Network feature. I'm releasing some updates to this network today though so I'll investigate.
