孝陵殿Xiaoling Hall

明孝陵享殿，即孝陵殿，建成于洪武十六年（1383）年五月，奉安帝后神位。明初，享殿取代陵台成为皇家陵寝中最核心的部分，孝陵殿的三层须弥座体现了享殿的最高等级。孝陵殿木构建筑在清咸丰年间毁于战火，台基上现存建筑补建于同治年间。

The Hall for Worship of Ancestors from The Ming Xiaoling（simplified Chinese:明孝陵享殿）, also known as the Xiaoling Hall, was built in May 1383. It is a sacred place used for enshrining deceased Hongwu emperor and his empress. At the early time of Ming Dynasty, the Hall for Worship of Ancestors replaced the tomb as the most essential part of the imperial mausoleum. The triple pedestal of sumeru (simplified Chinese:须弥座) of this building has demonstrated its supreme status.
Unfortunately, the wooden part of the building was destroyed because of the endless war during the region of emperor Xianfeng（1851-1862）, and the existing part on the pedestal was constructed extra during the region of emperor Daoguang（1861-1875）.

-This asset was made meticulously according to the thesis “Study on the Constructions of Stone Work of the Official Buildings in Early Ming Dynasty” and the exhibition of achievements in survey and drawing from Nanjing University of Technology.
