This is my personal guide to fish in sot, I made it cause I had nothing better to do, and I got a lot of experience and tips since I started fishing.
It contains all u need to get the legendary tittle for every fish on this game, and get the most tittles needed to get one of the most difficult tittles in the game, the "Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Thieves"

MUST have *read this*
please, get yourself the first checkpoint of The Hearts Of Fire tall tale, the one that you get the red stone key from the first puzzle, and keep this key at your boat BEFORE you go to an island, this will prevent from ANY AI to spawn whatever you are. and this is HUGE since AI in this game never stop spawning and annoying you. that's it.
Plantifins
plantifins > shores of plenty > earthworms
u need:
50 olive
50 amber
50 cloudy
50 watery (nighttime only)
10 bonedust

my tip: I personally prefer to fish on north star seapost, very close to cannon cove, what i did was, docking at cannon cove with my storage crate, grab 200+ earthworms, get a row boat and fish at the seapost, why?

1. because there's a very small chance to you get interrupted by another crews while fishing.

2. you can fish and sell instantly

3. no annoying islehoppers trying to steal your bait, so there's waaay easier to fish for plantifins.

4. good luck with the bonedust... :aware:
Wild Spasles
wild spasles > wilds > earth worms
u need:
50 russet
50 sandy
50 ocean
50 coral (nighttime only)
10 muddy

my tip: I personally prefer to fish on three paces east seapost, close to kraken's fall, dock your boat at kraken's fall with your storage crate, grab 200+ earthworms, get a row boat and fish at the seapost, why?

1. small chance you get interrupted by another crews while fishing.

2. you can fish and sell instantly

3. no annoying islehoppers trying to steal your bait, so there's waaay easier to fish for Wild Spasles.
4. good luck with the muddy bro... :aware:
Pondies
pondies > ponds > no bait (my personal favorite islands are mermaid's hideaway and Devil's Ridge)
u need:
50 charcoal
50 orchild
50 bronze
50 moonsky (nighttime only)
10 bright

my tip: I personally prefer to fish at Mermaid's Hideaway, just dock your boat behind the island, why?

1. small chance for you to get interrupted by other crews while fishing, since behind the island is the red sea, so less of a chance for someone to be coming from there, and see your boat there.

2.they require no bait, and it took me only 8+ hours to get them all, compared to the other ones, this is nothing.
SplashTails
splashtails > anywhere > no bait
u need:
50 ruby
50 sunny
50 indigo
50 seafoam (nighttime only)
10 umber
Ancient Scales
ancient scales > ancient isles > leeches
u need:
50 almond
50 sapphire
50 smoke
50 starshine (nighttime only)
10 bone
Devilfish
devilfish > devils roar > grubs
u need:
50 ashen
50 seashell
50 lava
50 firelight (nighttime only)
10 forsaken

my tip: At devils roar, go to the East side of Cursewaters Shores since no volcanos will hit you there.
Islehopers
islehopers > "close to some islands > no bait
u need:
50 stone (sailors bounty, cannon cove, shark bait cove, crooks hollow, shipwreck bay)
50 moss (wander's refuge, lone cove, thieves haven, marauder's arch, ashen reaches)
50 honey (crescent isle, discovery ridge, plunder valley, kraken's fall, sunken grove)
50 amethyst (nighttime only on smugglers bay, mermaids hideaway, snake island, devil's ridge, crocked masts, old faithful)
10 raven (guaranteed to catch at daytime on the islands where spawns the amethyst)
Battlegils
battlegils > active forts, close to skelly fleets > grubs
u need:
50 jade
50 sky
50 rum,
50 bitthersweet (nighttime only)
10 sand
Stormfish
stormfish > storms > leeches
u need:
50 ancient (can only be caught on the ancient isles)
50 shored (can only be caught on the shores of plenty)
50 wild (can only be caught on the wilds)
50 twilight (*nighttime only)
10 shadow (after a couple splashtails, guaranteed to caught on the glorious seadog tavern during the storm)
Wreckers
wreckers > shiprecks > earth worms
u need:
50 rose
50 sun
50 blackcloud (can only be caught during storms "good luck with that")
50 moon (nighttime only)
10 snow

my tip: An easier way to catch wreckers is by putting down a Commission of the Ancient Veil Voyage, by that you cant get a mission witch spawns a shipwreck and yes, you can catch wreckers there.
bonus* treachrous plunders (trash)
these ones can be found anywhere, but the best spot to get them is on an small spot on a pond above the waterfall located at the shores of gold.

so you need to have the shores of gold tall tale checkpoint to get there.
and the spot is in one of the pics uploaded to this guide.

Hello sir. I have a question: u said that we can catch wreckers on a shipwreck by putting down a Commission of the Ancient Veil Voyage, but can we put down a Merchant Voyage which spawns a shipwreck too?

selling without cooking isn't living up to the true potential of fishing, plus it's less XP and gold

should also try discord.gg/fishing if you want others to fish with to help speed up the process, it's a SoT server dedicated to fishing

lul, no wonder this game is garbage, instead of making an actual game, they put alot of effort into making menial tasks for you to do.
