Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition

Description
Adds a low amount of mineable gigaroids to each star system.

Mineable Gigaroids are very large asteroids containing mostly iron AND copper, but also some carbon, hyperium, tritanium, uranium and gold (and some will contain some diamonds).

As a new feature, barren rocks may also drop resources, though only in small quantities. These rocks can be mined just like resource deposits.

Roughly 5 Mineable Gigaroids are to be found in each star system, usually within an asteroid field. Because the game spawner seems to sometimes be a bit funky, I added a new type of asteroid field to the game which is guaranteed to contain at least a couple of the new Mineable Gigaroids. These new asteroid fields also contain a low amount of Mineable Megaroids instead of only a lot of usually tiny default asteroids and will make these asteroid fields easier to navigate and mine. These mineable megaroids are very similar to the ones in my Mineable Megaroids mod. These new asteroid fields will only spawn 1 (or sometimes 2) in each star system.

Mineable Gigaroids come in several variants, with most containing increased amounts of certain resources.
Some may contain more iron and more copper than usual, while some mineable gigaroids contain more carbon (along with a low amount of diamonds). Some may contain more hyperium or tritanium and some contain more uranium and gold.
Gigaroids which are larger and contain more rare resources will be somewhat more uncommon.

Even though mineable gigaroids are not as large as my Mineable Dwarf Planets, these are still massive asteroids and it will take some time and effort to mine them down.

If you'd like Mineable Gigaroids to also appear around the smaller trade stations, I have the Trade Station add-on, which can be downloaded from here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2934175030

.

Why Lite Edition? Because I made a previous version of this mod featuring more variety in both colors and sizes. However, due to game engine limitations that are beyond my power to change, the performancehit turned out to be more than I anticipated, so I had to regretfully unlist the old version of this mod because I could not with a clean conscience keep it up with the issues it could cause.
This version doesn't have the performance issues that the previous version had.

Fortunately I was able to make some changes and while it will not look as nice as the old version of this mod, balance wise it's nearly identical. Still very unfortunate that there is no way to simply change the color of an asteroid without the game making a full copy of the existing texture atlas, which turned out to be the main cause of the performance issues.

I've decided to upload this mod as a separate download, because trying to fix the old version would probably break people's playthroughs.

Mineable Gigaroids is compatible and can be combined with my other mods (unless stated otherwise), particularly with Mineable Megaroids, Mineable Dwarf Planets, Less Dense Asteroids, just to name a few.

@The Royal Vulpine IV: For general modding questions I'd recommend you head over to the official Cosmoteer discord. There will be a separate thread "Modding" that is meant for questions like these.

I would also like to add in resources from A Cosmos Divided as well! Learning to edit things properly is the goal for me

Is there a good resource you can direct me to so I can edit Gigaroids just for my game to match things a bit better? Or maybe just a good modding tutorial resource in general? Scripting isn't foreign to me, I'm just not familiar with Cosmoteer or good with scripting much.

@The Royal Vulpine IV: The standard large asteroids have varying densities with iron and sulfur being the highest and gold and uranium being the lowest.
Mineable Gigaroids have more compact resource nodes, so the nodes are further apart but each one contains way more resources per resource node (from memory something like 15 resource nuggets for each resource node or something).

The only way you could have large asteroids having 5 times higher density in any resources is if you use mods that increase vanilla asteroid resource densities and Mineable Gigaroids are designed to be balanced according to vanilla (unmodded) densities.

Is there a way to make the asteroids more dense? Our standard "large" asteroids are like 5 times more resource rich than teh gigaroids we are finding. What file and values can I edit for this?

@mydream1000: I have no idea.
I suppose it's possible. I mean if any asteroids can spawn in that gamemode than any asteroid should be able to be spawned in that gamemode but I don't know for sure.

This may come off as a bit of a off the wall request, but is there a way to make these spawn in build and battle?

Version 1.3.0

- Mineable Gigaroids now always visible within gas clouds, mirroring balance change set by cosmoteer patch 0.28.2
- Internal changes to support the addition of new resources from ETTM (Has no obvious effect on this mod, but this change is a needed internal one to keep the gigaroids addons compatible with the ETTM versions of the gigaroid mod).

thank for the fix and quick response
