This is a guide to show you how to make The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt cutscenes work on various ultra-wide aspect ratios.

This has been updated to a setting in-game, in the game-play section

Download HxD(Hex Editor)

This app will help you get the necessary hex codes that you can edit to make your cutscenes work on ultra-wide aspect ratios, you can download it here [mh-nexus.de]

Open HxD64.exe

Open HxD64.exe, from the folder you have installed the program.

Select your desired game.exe, depending on what version of directx you use.

Opening the game.exe is simple, just do as shown below:

These are the directories for both .exes:

DirectX12:
DirectX11:
After that, just choose "witcher3.exe" from your chosen directory.

After selecting your .exe ...

After selecting the .exe you should be greeted like as shown below:
From here it's pretty simple, all you need to do is replace some hex codes, press CTRL + R, and then select the tab which says "Hex-values", and search direction selected on "All", in the "Search for:" space, there needs to be the following hex value, "39 8E E3 3F", in the replace field there should be your chosen resolution at which you want your cutscenes to be displayed at, the values are shown below:

2560x1080 = 26 B4 17 40
3440x1440 = 8E E3 18 40
3840x1600 = 9A 99 19 40
5120x1440 = 39 8E 63 40
5120x2160 = 26 B4 17 40
6880x2880 = 8E E3 18 40

In mine the replace field is filled with the 2560x1080, hex value, you can see this below:
After you've done your own values, just press on "Replace All", the program should tell you that 3 entries have been edited, if that's the case, you've done it right. After that all you need to do is make sure the work is saved, with the help of the button shown below:
