Play as a disciple of Christ, Thomas the Apostle; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The Nasrani people encompass the earliest Christians of India. St. Thomas, the Disciple of Christ, went forth to spread the good news in Parthia and India. It is believed his Indian trek started in calamity as he was forced out of northern India, likely after contacting the Parthians or Scythians in India. St. Thomas would find lodging in Kerala where he would preach to the Malayali who would found various Syrian churches. The term Nasran is derived from Nazareth, and it is often used in the Arab world or around the Indian Ocean to identify native Christians. The Syriac Christians of southern India would prosper under Dharmic rulers much like their diasporic Bene Israelite relatives. With the introduction of the Portuguese in the region, the Nasrani Christians would fracture into a Latin Rite that rejected Hindu culture or into traditional groups that opposed Latinization. The British incursion into Kerala would introduce various schools of Protestant thought, further splintering the Nasrani into various denominations.

  • Trait - Acts of Thomas: 15% Faith discount to purchase Apostles or Missionaries. Apostles begin with the Martyr Promotion. Completing a Holy Site will grant a Builder in the city. Can purchase Trade Routes with Faith.
  • Alt Name - Nasran.
  • Agenda - Without Doubt: Likes civilizations that have accepted his religion.

    CIVILIZATION: SYRO-INDIA
  • Trait - Coonan Cross Oath: Trade Routes exert an additional +50% Religious pressure in their destination, increasing to +100% with Colonialism. Completing a building or Wonder will grant Culture and Faith equal to 10% of its cost.
  • Spawn Bias - Tier 3 Coast/Jungle.

    CIVILIZATION UNIT: PADROADO NAU
  • Syro-Indian unique Renaissance era Naval Melee class unit that replaces the Caravel. Every active Padroado Nau will grant +1 Trade Route capacity. +5 Combat Strength if adjacent to or escorting a Religious unit.

    CIVILIZATION BUILDING: EZHARAPPALLIKAL
  • A building unique to Syro-India that replaces the Temple. +1 Culture and +5 Faith, doubled if within 10 tiles of the Capital. +1 Great Engineer and +2 Great Prophet points per turn, doubled if within 10 tiles of the Capital. Can hold 3 Relics and becomes automatically themed when full. Additional +4 Tourism in the Holy Site if within 10 tiles of the Capital.
  • Recalling Heroes costs 15% less Faith (Heroes & Legends).

  • Works with Strudeler's Civilization VI Deluxe.
  • Works with Tomatekh's Historical Religions.
