Description
This is a Megalomaniac size map that contains A Life Size Railroad! I wanted to make a realistic Railroad that had 100 real miles or more of mainline track. If your looking to run a realistic size railroad with 100 trains or more this is the map for you.

This map is themed after the western USA. It has aspects from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado. The scenery depicts whats listed above as there are vast deserts of different types along with mountainous regions.

There are 3 depicted railroad themed after the Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, and Union Pacific railroads. all 3 have there own main lines but they share one main line for half of the map.

There are several portals where cargo can be loaded and unloaded in mass volume. There are custom industries along with standard industries throughout the map. If you like mountain coal industries and railroading there is a coal region in a mountain pass you will love.

This is a realistic real size railroad map that can keep you busy for a very long time.

Just awesome. Can't believe you had the time and patience to create this. Glad you did. Now I'm off to cook my gaming PC :0)

Excellent work, must have taken many many hours to get this level of detail.
Thanks for sharing,
Have some points in return :)

Your map looks awesome, Goat. I'm looking forward to playing this.

I have a tip for you I recently learned when trying to create a map.

Look at your 7th & 8th pictures on here (the white peak mountain picture shows what I mean quite well). You'll notice there is desert sand around every base of the temperate climate-type trees, which isn't very realistic for that type of climate. This is because you are using the U.S. template, which acts as the base ground texture for the terrain. The temperate climate puts a default mud texture around the base of the trees, which looks far more normal. To get that look on any map with the U.S. climate (if I remember correctly), place the trees you want in the area first, then paint the terrain while holding the shift key. This will put the correct terrain around each tree from any of the three biomes.

Just for future maps, of course. I'm not suggesting you redo this map, as I'm sure those areas took long enough as it is!
