Description
Nerve Stapling for everybody*!

Tried out if the traits still pop up for cyborgs and full bots, and they do, so it should still work. If not, write a comment.

Welcome dear slave trader!
Tired of your slaves being unhappy? Want them to be a bit more lucrative on the market? Jealous of those basic biological empires getting all the fun?

Worry not!
With this mod all* can get their own version of the Nerve Stapled trait.

Did you decide to shed your weak flesh and join the machine uprising and don't want to deal with the unhappiness of your biological slaves as they toil away?
Research Brainmatter Replacements and turn those meatbags into proper drones!
Did you hear the call of the Void but now the thought enforcement is not enough for those pesky xenos?
Then the Psionic Wave Receptors are just right for you.
Are you maybe a Cyberpunk enjoyer and want to create the most docile megacorp clerk?
The Behavioural Modification Chipsets have got you covered!

After you have decided your path and researched the basic Neural Implant, you too can stumble upon these technologies. As usual, the more authoritarian you are and the more slaves you have, the more likely you are to roll it in your techs. But beware: it's still a rare technology (subject to change)!
Once researched, go on to your race modification tab, slot that trait in for only 2 trait points, save and apply the template to the victim the lucky citizen and soon after they'll forget all their troubles (but watch out for the 0.1 amenity increase for these pops)!

New Traits!
New Arrivals for our dear slave traders! This time we aim to improve the slaves of Genetically Ascended empires with the new "MSI Special" and the best addition to every Livestock in form of the "Donor Body"! The MSI Special turns pops into Nerve Stapled working machines, whilst also making them weaker in combat, y'know, just in case. The Donor Body on the other hand adds Consumer Goods and Society Research production to your Livestock. If you every wanted a necklace carved from the bones of a Fallen Empire, this trait is just what you wanted.

*If you don't follow any of the ascension paths or are one of the assimilators certain assimilators, these aren't available to you

Technical Stuff
The mod adds 3 technologies locked behind each non-biological Ascension Path:
  • Psionic Wave Receptors
  • Behavioural Modification Chipsets
  • Brainmatter Replacements
These techs unlock their respective traits and give an additional trait modification point.
The traits have mostly the same effects as normal Nerve Stapled:
  • +5% Pop Job multiplier
  • +0.1 Pop Amenities Usage
  • Can't generate Leaders or be employed in specialist/ruler jobs.
Other Stuff

A collection with all of my current mods, works well together if you want to play a spy-focused game.

If you have issues with the mod or the balancing, leave a comment. The mod doesn't change any base-game files, so it shouldn't interfere with anything else.

@킨제유만 I don't play hiveminds that would keep aliens around for long but I don't think there should be too much trouble if you can keep them alive. But thanks for mentioning it, seems I didn't add the hivemind cyborg ascensions to the list.
As for Gigastructures, I don't know what would prevent you from using both. This mod doesn't change anything on the base files.
If you notice anything wrong with it though, feel free to mention it.

And is this also possible in 'Gigastructures mod'?
킨제유만 Nov 18, 2024 @ 6:27pm
Is this even possible with a ‘hive mind’?

What. Did. I. Just. Read?

Anyway... "not affected" is not "Happiest in the universe".

"Not affected" is 50 for most intents and purposes, not a 100.

I'd suggest the angle of "forgetting all their trouble" or something similar. It sounds a lot like happiness but actually isn't it, which hits the nail on the head with nerve stapled and I believe would be a good thematic fit to what I think you were going for in that passage.
