Phasmophobia crucifix guide

When I started playing the game I didn't realise how to use the crucifix. And I also see many poeple having the same problem as me in the past. This short guide will explain quickly how an crucifix works.

Crucifix function

Many people think that the crucifix will save you DURING a hunt. But the fact is, if the ghost already started the hunt the crucifix becomes useless. The actual function of the crucifix is to PREVENT a hunt, not to stop it.

How to use the crucifix

The crucifix will only stop the hunt if a ghost tries to begin a hunt within a 3 meter (9.8 ft) radius of the crucifix. This radius is up to 5 meters (16.4 ft) for the demon.

A crucifix has two charges, you can only bring with you 2 crucifix that will be 4 charges in total that you get out of the crucifix.

What you want to do once you find the ghost room, place a crucifix down in the room. If the room is small or if you have only one crucifix, place it in the middle of the room, if you have both crucifixes I would recommend to place one on one side of the room, the other on the other side. So that it covers the most of the room surface. You can also place one in the room and one just outside of it if the ghost decides to start a hunt outside of the room. (If you are holding a crucifix that will also prevent a hunt if you are in that 3 meter radius of the ghost trying to attack)

Now you need to pray that the ghost decides to trigger a hunt within the covered area of the crucifixes. And always check if the ghost changed ghost room without you knowing because then the ghost can start a hunt from the other side of the house and the crucifix becomes useless.

If the crucifix prevented the ghost from hunting, it will burn a little bit and a part of it disappears. Then if the same crucifix prevents again the ghost from spawning, it will burn completely and the 2 charges are used.

An important thing to keep in mind is that a crucifix will not prevent a ghost from hunting if you are using a cursed possession (Tarot cards, Ouija board, Voodoo doll, Summoning circle, Music Box, Haunted mirror) and it starts a hunt.
