Mariazellerbahn

Description
Overview:

This is a 3:1 MEGALOMANIAC map (please enable experimental map sizes) of the Mariazellerbahn, a 760mm narrow gauge, electrified railway, in Austria, from St Polten, connecting to the Westbahn, thru the Pielach valley and over the Lower Austrian Alps to the Styrian pilgrimage center of Mariazell.

Areas included on this map include portions of the Austrian states of Lower Austria and Styria. Simulate Traffic on the Austrian Westbahn and Leoberdorfersbahn, and the entirety of the Mariazellerbahn from St Polten to Gußwerk.

This map was made with real heightmap data from the Tangram Heightmapper.

Towns and Industries:

Main cities include St Polten, Prinzersdorf, Ober-Grabendorf, Pyhra, Kilb, Wilhelmsburg, Traisen, St Veit an der Gosen, Rabenstein an der Pielach, Kirchberg a d Pielach, Lillienfeld, Turnitz, Frankenfels, Loich, Schwarzenbach a d Pielach, Litterbach am Erlaufsee, Mariazell, Annaberg, and Gußwerk. There are also many other small towns to give passenger networks increased viability. Adding in some other small towns with either the Sandbox mode, or ploppable buildings is also a good way to create those small mountain villages without it turning into a sprawling city late game.

There are various industries all over the map, roughly simulating real life freight traffic on the Mariazellerbahn (mostly timber) and to give the base game industries some viability. Sandbox Mode is still suggested in order to add/remove industries as needed/wanted.

Mods:

The map will still load without the required mods, but will look best with them installed and enabled.

The Alpine Climate - 1500m. The map looks best with this enabled.

Sandbox mode is suggested for placement of industries and removal/addition of towns as desired.

Hope you enjoy!
