Subsistence Overhaul Mod

A balance and expansion of arable land, migration, and subsistence farming.

The primary goal is to add some strategic depth to subsistence farming, so it isn't an unchanging backdrop behind industrialization. Many nations had massive land reforms to set the stage for industrialization, and this mod aims to allow the player to follow that path as well by making several changes:

Arable land re-balance:
Heavily reduced the amount of arable land in Asia and India, and increased the amount in the Americas. (Re-balanced overpopulation defines so this won't affect birth rates/migration)

Base Production methods for subsistence farming, including:
Traditionalist methods, lowing SOL in undeveloped economies until they pass economic reforms
Manoralism, an effective method to employ a large amount of peasants, but not very efficient
Tennant Farming, which uses less labor for more output, but is only available after abolishing serfdom

Additional production methods for subsistence farms:
Hunting - allowing nations with either the national militia or mass conscription laws to use small arms during peacetime to improve their peasant's SOL and produce meat.
Cottage industries - Tennant farmers can now produce some luxury goods, at the expense of more common needs.

Effects of these changes:

SOL in many places is lowered; changes to birth/death rate and events such as the great famine make this less punishing, however.
As a result, starting literacy in most of Africa and Asia is lower as well.

An abundance of arable land in the Americas makes it much more attractive relative to the old world in terms of migration. I changed migration defines so this will be more impactful over the course of the game.

Abolishing serfdom and traditionalism should now be a bit less underwhelming in terms of effects, as peasant SOL can now go from ~7 to almost ~13 depending on PMs and job availability.

Compatability Version (No arable land changes):

Adjustments were done on a region-by-region basis; in return for lowered arable land India and East Asia received intensive subsistence farming which allows them to support the same number of peasants.
I have another version of the mod, linked in the description, which doesn't include arable land changes if you'd prefer vanilla or another mod's arable land distribution.

@zoleeeee28 I just updated it and verified it is compatible with the new patch. This mod doesn't eliminate the negative overpopulation modifier, but it does increase it by about 4x before penalties begin.

i wanna get rid of the negative overpopulation modifier, does this mod contain it?

Is it gonna be updated to be compatible with the new patch?

it seems like the arable land in Sindh is a bit low, its got both the indus river and indus river valley modifiers on it, but only has 29 arable land, which is 1 less than panama.

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it next update

Tenant farming doesn't exist for subsistence ranches, so the cottage industry can't be used.

Please do! I'll add it to the localization files so others can use it.
