Essential Mods/Fixes to Jedi Outcast

Some mods that makes the experience of this incredible game even more remarkable on modern systems.

PATCH 1.04

If you're not using the Steam/GOG version of this game, you might have an outdated version of Jedi Outcast installed. Please install patch 1.04 to ensure everything will work.

SKIP INTRO

Intro videos will be skipped for both single player and multiplayer modes.

Just extract "Jedi_Outcast_Academy_intro_skip.pk3" to GameData\base in the installation folder.

HD LOADING SCREENS

This is a set of high-resolution loading screens for Jedi Outcast, for both mission mode and multiplayer levels. My aim was to replace the default set - which is extremely low-resolution - with better visuals, while staying as close to the original as possible.

Just place the file Jedi_Outcast_HD_loading_screens.pk3 in your GameData\base\ directory. Enjoy!

JEDI EXPANDED MENU

Expanded Menu bring many new features to Jedi Outcast through a new reworked interface, and exploit the full potential of the base game engine possibilities.

This mod allows a lot of new configurations to the game, and modernizes the UI!

Installing this one requires a little tweaking here and there, but nothing too complex. Read the README that comes within the .zip to do things right!

4xAI UPSCALE

Uses AI Upscale to make the textures look better. This is really an optional one if you ask me, but here it is.

To install, just copy "assets8_4x_upscale.pk3" to \JediOutcast\GameData\base

Troubleshooting

Some erros that i found when i was using the mod, and how i fixed them:

1- Game crashes when ESC is pressed, "Corrupt Zone Tail".
FIX: I was using my monitor resolution, 1366x768 on the game Custom Resolution options. Seems to be unsupported, when i changed to 1360x768, it worked just fine.

2- Brightness didn't change at all when i move the slider.
FIX: You need to reload the game to the brightness to have any change at all. One easy way to do it is changing something in the VIDEO settings, like full screen "on" to "off", then "on" again (assuming you want to use full screen) just so that the option to apply video changes make itself visible, by doing so the game will quickly reload, and the brightness will be updated as desired.
I find the game way too dark by default. My personal preference is to let the slider in something like 35% full bar.

3- Vsync seems to lag mouse input?
FIX: All right, this is just me and I could be totally imagining things... But it does seem to lag it a bit. I play with Vsync OFF because of this.
