Death Aboard - L4D1 Port

Description
In Death Aboard you start out in a prison and work your way out to the nearest docks area. From here, you board a stranded ship and finally to an island where there will be a lighthouse as a finale.

The classic L4D1 map faithfully ported.

G'day lads, Death Aboard is one of my all time favorite L4D maps but I've never seen it ported (properly). So I decided to undertake the task myself and port it to work correctly within the sequel.

Features include:
-Original map files, no recompile
-Original nav
-5 Chapters and 1 Survival map
-Updated weapon and item spawns
-L4D1 Infected (Common & Special)
-Melees in the saferoom
-Missing assets come packaged so no need for content fixes
-Missing sounds that where not present even in L4D1 added and restored

Now I like to make this VERY clear, I did NOT make this map. It was created by Petter Hesse AKA "Diputs" and the soundtrack was composed by Mark Hünermund Jensen.

5/10 it has cool ideas but a lot of odd things like commons spawning in thin air T posing and the first two areas have all the hordes and tanks awhile the trash finale has two tanks and no hordes plus the finale wants you to run back down the mountain after starting the event which makes no sense as its a hot air balloon evac way below the mountain

Rating:6.5/10, Difficulty: 7/10 (without all of the bugs), Length: Medium-Long, Played on expert realism single player

Map 1 to map 3 are pretty nice. Starting from map 4, there are no medkit despise i restarted map 4 many times by dying over and over again (bug) until i finally decide to re-enter the map 4, and guess what, they finally spawned. Zombie also sometime spawn very close to despise i have just cleared the area, happened at least 4 times when i played through the campaign which makes them got some cheap damage on me.

Map 4 design are pretty creative, there are a lot of witch which would be a problem in realism mode so prepare something to counter the witch. The last map isnt very good, cant find any tips on how to start the finale, take me a lot of time while the horde keep spawning once in a while. The escape are really funny, a hot air ballon will come and pick u up.

The map has a great atmosphere and a setting right at home with other L4D1 content (I know it's a port), but the confusing layouts and tedious finale ruined it for me.

Death Aboard - L4D1 Port is a solid and pretty enjoyable Custom Map overall, with some very imaginative location designs. The custom sounds and ambience were also a nice thematic touch. However, it's hindered by a long list of small issues present all throughout.

starting in the ship level, there are zombies that spawn in clear sight. getting to the safe room on death's door on the level before the ship makes the next section basically unplayable because of no medkits for the entirety of the level. the map has a nice atmosphere but dear lord was it insufferable to play starting from the ship level
