Dante Alighieri and often referred to as Dante, was an Italian poet, writer, philosopher and politician. His Divine Comedy, originally called Comedìa and later christened Divina , is widely considered one of the most important poems of the Middle Ages and the greatest literary work in the Italian language. His use of the Florentine dialect for works such as The New Life and Divine Comedy helped establish the modern-day standardized Italian language and he is considered as the father. His work set a precedent that important Italian writers such as Petrarch and Boccaccio would later follow.

The statue was erected in 1865 by sculptor Ugo Zannoni at Piazza dei Signori in Verona and represents the poet, thin and austere, holding his work with one hand, supporting the other arm with a finger on his chin, while he turns his head absorbed in deep thought. This marble statue with neoclassical forms was erected at night to avoid the aggressiveness of the Austrians who governed the city at that time. We can read at the pedestal “A Dante lo primo svo rifvgio” that's mean "Dante's first refuge" In fact he was driven out of his native land Florence because of his politicals thoughts in an era of convulsive political and social changes and he found refuge in the city of Verona where he stayed for 7 years.

I optimized the statue and reworked the base to lower the amount of tris to reach a reasonable size to make it easy for the game and used textures. The asset is PO friendly, you can up/down size it for your own liking.
