The Queen of Purity of Virgo vs. the Zodiac returns to the world of Aether!
For this edition, I have tried to characterise her as a heavy weight whiff punisher with large disjoints but a subpar combo game; utilising a large array of weapons forged from stardust plucked from across the galaxy. Her favourite weapon is the spear, but guns, hammers, pillars and cellos are also available. Attacks like the Down Special cannon and the Neutral Special arrow will make it easier to force you opponents into disadvantageous positions, making landing the rewarding sweet spots easier.

Headline changes include a complete sprite overhaul. The old one had sprites aimed at being close to the game’s original aesthetic, which resulted in many clarity issues. This one has been designed with the Rival’s aesthetic in mind. She has re-balanced physics and frame data to make them feel less Sandbert like and more up to date with the Rival’s base cast. Most moves have been touched up, and some have been completely reworked. She also has a bunch of new alts: Will you don the colours of the Holy Queen, or declare your allegiance to a different Zodiac? Or… someone else?
Virgo’s signature gimmick from her home game, Purity, makes its return, but there are more ways to gain it this time. Virgo now has ‘timed hits’ linked to some of her moves. The timed hits are on Forward Strong and Up Strong. You can also gain Purity by landing the sweet-spot on Forward Tilt or Up Air. Finally, the primary way of gaining purity is by parrying.

While Virgo has Purity, Virgo will lose Purity on hit instead of taking direct damage, and knock-back is negated. Damage over time effects can still hurt her, though, and you still take hit stun.
And of course, you can ride an Alpaca.

Specials:

Neutral Special - Toxodotes: Virgo fires an arrow from Sagittarius’ bow. If it hits, Virgo gains a movement speed boost for a short time.

Forward Special - Alpacavalry. Virgo mounts the alpaca Khrysomallo and charges. She can cancel it with jump and the Alpaca will continue charging. The ability will go on cool-down for short while after use, or if Virgo is hit while riding.

(Khrysomallo naturally has golden fur, but for this he had it dyed to show support for Virgo)

Up Special - Hawkshead. Virgo uses a jet-pack to soar upwards. It can be cancelled early by air dodging, which will reset the air time.

Fire the Broadsides (Down Special) has been reworked into a trap that takes a while to set up, but can deal damage both at close range and at a distance with the cannonball it fires. You can also hit yourself with the cannon, I wouldn’t take that out. You can also drop the cannon as a quicker, weaker projectile ‘Drop the Broadsides’. Only one cannon can be in play at once.

Other Noteworthy Moves:

Up Air - Fortress. Summons a fortress. The powerful sweet spot at the tip builds Purity. The attack is a usable juggling tool onstage even if you miss the sweet-spot. It does have very long ending lag though, so use it offstage at your peril.

Forward Strong - Blue Shaft Halberd. A slow, large and powerful strong attack that builds Purity with the correct timing.

Up Strong - Golden Pillar. A slow, long ranged attack that can hit multiple times and builds Purity.

Down Strong – Stomp. Rather than having kill power, it buries opponents on the ground, so you can combo other moves into it more easily.

Back Air - Bolt Action Rifle. A more powerful projectile than the previous version, it also sends Virgo backwards at speed after firing, allowing for movement mix-ups.

Compatible with Mt Dedede Arena, Steve, Dracula, Kirby and she has a Final Smash, Beam of Purity! A very powerful attack which will immediately max out the Purity gauge, even if it misses.
Virgo also comes equipped with runes, inspired by glitches or discarded balance mechanics.

This is an unofficial fan made project. Virgo Vs. The Zodiac was developed by Moonana Games. If you are reading this, hi. Good luck on Keylocker.
Additional thanks to Shtwick for the suggestion about timed hits, and everyone on the ExW discord for their patience and explanations when it comes to coding and animation. Special thanks to Bar, ArtistofSeer and Lukaru who went the extra mile.
Character portrait was a commission done by theSmashWaffle.
Ending theme from the game's soundtrack, developed by Elektrobear.

Your wishes are appreciated. I haven't got any plans for new projects in the short term because, as you say, it's hard work making a character from scratch. Perhaps next year. Obviously willing to do maintenance work before then. Safe travels yourself. Try to avoid the Danmaku on your way out.

i am rather flattered, i wish you the best in the workshop creation out there ; i know its very hard to make one, i myself tried to but lost motivation

Thank you! Funny story, it was that suggestion that finally persuaded me there would be enough of a reason to make a new one.
