Mod for Victoria 3 that changes the chance that Rulers die.

Ironman and Achievement compatible. NOT Savegame compatible.
It should be compatible with most Mods, it changes several things but it shouldn't conflict with mods that don't directly change certain defined Attributes.

It primarly focuses on making rulers die earlier from natural causes but it doesn't change the age limit of 100 years.
The reason Rulers die very late is because the death of natural causes is starting to roll when a ruler is more than 60 years old, this Mod does reduce the start to roll natural death to 38 years. In return the boosted chance to gain a heir is being shifted from 30 years to 22 years and the Adult Age for heirs is being shifted from 16 years old to 14 years old to open up all Character options, like making them a General. It doesn't change the start to gain a heir, it still is at 20 years old.
As stated above, this Mod doesn't guarantee that rulers die before reaching 100, but it significantly makes it more possible because without this mod, death of natural causes is rolled 39 times, with this mod it is rolled 61 times before reaching the age of 100.

@Matriximor I looked at the Mod files and they edit the 00_defines.txt file and haven't named it different. If you want to play with both mods i can only recommend going to your mod list, create a mod yourself and paste the 00_defines.txt file in and edit it so that both files changes are in it, thats how compatibility Mods are usually made. ;)

Checkout the mod "Improved Late Game Performance", they only change a few of the defines. The trick is to name the file something different, and only keep the defines for things you need to override.

@Metriximor As far as I know thats not possible. The defines I need to change are lumped together with all the others in one file. Mods in higher order than other mods changing the same file will cause a mod conflict, idk how to avoid it and as far as i know you can't.

Bro you are changing the entire defines files. This is not necessary, you can just override only the defines you want, and not cause any mod conflicts

@oldmole1984 Like i said, the problem is most likely a conflict with another mod. Also haven't seen any other file in the game that influences the lifespan. For me personally it works fine, playing as japan my ruler dies pretty fast after the game start. As for the certain European Rulers I've also seen your problem, mby they have had an extra heallh_add somewhere in the code, but haven't found that.

@oldmole1984 Yes it works unless you use another mod that changes the 00_defines.txt file. Also there's always the chance rulers can become 100 years old, but with this mod its extremely rare, if you don't want them to even come near 100 years then go to my mod, edit the 00_defines.txt file and search for "DEATH_CHECKS_YEAR_END = 100" and edit the number to whatever you want to be the max age all rulers can reach. Unless I update this mod your change will be saved until the next update.
