Description
Adds the Thrall trait, which makes people like vampires. Thralls will get a mood and opinion buff from being fed on. Thrall is an uncommon trait, but there is also a new gene that forces the Thrall trait, allowing you to genengineer vampire thralls. Amazing!

This is basically a slightly more interesting version of my quick and dirty NoBloodfeedPenalty mod ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2883131063 ). This one is less quick, but just as dirty. Incidentally, if you apply both mods then feeding on a Thrall will give them a mood and opinion bonus, but feeding on another person remains entirely neutral.

Thralls also get an opinion bonus toward Sanguophages.

For a more nuanced (and potentially less cruel) option, I have just found the Sanguophage Feed Relationship mod ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2884586228&searchtext=vampire ). They should be compatible.

Update 07/27/2023:
- Added Rince's retexture for the gene. Thank you Rince!

Update on 11/12/2022:
- Sanguophages in the colony will autonomously feed on colony Thralls. This will only happen if the Thrall is available and feeding on them won't be dangerous. Still working on a toggle for a particular Thrall to allow/disallow Bloodfeeders from autonomously feeding on them.

Hmm interesting suggestion, but the point of thralls is really to give a reliable blood source for the vampires, so I think that making the thralls also need hemogen would just be a net drain on the supply.

ohh ok, and also small suggestion for enthrallment ability, maybe make it a given for anyone with bloodfeeder/hemogenic? so modded vampires also get the ability, would be cool to use this mod with big and small - vampires and the undead

and maybe for balance it should have a hemogen cost to apply, and maybe like a small rework making those with the thrall trait need hemogen upkeep?

basically thralls might get something like a 'hemogenic enthrallment' gene that works like hemogen drain and gives them a hemogen meter, but they cant feed on human blood like vampires and instead rely on being fed by a vampire

Yeah, I haven't gotten to the enthrallment ability yet. If you also have Ideology, I do have a ritual to add the trait to a pawn. Very thematic - dark ritual to enthrall.

However, even without Ideology and the other mod, there IS a gene that adds the trait. It can spawn in traders, but you can also harvest it from a pawn you capture and then make it part of a xenotype.

I just tested this mod and frankly it's really nice, the only problem is the impossibility for the player to add this trait to a colony pawn (especially for slaves ;) ) with this possibility this mod would be really perfect and exactly what I was looking for.

is the enthrallment ability also implemented now?

I have a working update for this! However, I seem to be having issues updating it on the workshop. I am getting no information from the error so I'll probably just try again later

@TheAsternak I am working through my 1.6 updates :)

I love this mod more than I should and really hope it gets a 1.6 update.

did you manage to make an enthrall ability?
Sumatris May 4, 2024 @ 10:24am
Awesome! :-) I was planning on approximating thralldom in my next vampire campaign with the Mindbreak psycast from Vanilla Psycasts Expanded, but your approach feels more thematic overall (although I reserve the option to combine both for the restlessness and mood buffs). Anyway, thanks for sharing this mod as it is already :-).
