Adorable Adoptable Children
12 items
Description
Xveyl is a brave, happy child who can be found in The Blue Palace in Solitude. He will sometimes run up to you if you drop gear onto the ground.

NOTE: Body skin tone has been adjusted to better match the face color but it's not perfect...still a work in progress!

BEFORE SUBSCRIBING...

1) Hearthfire DLC: THIS IS REQUIRED in order to adopt children.

2) TKChildren...this should cause the children to look as they do in the pictures. (THIS IS REQUIRED FOR SOME PEOPLE)
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49756/?

3) HearthfireMultiKid...this is for multiple adoptions, to include up to 6 children and the houses you need for them are there as well
for you if you want more than two children. (THIS IS NOT REQUIRED UNLESS ADOPTING MORE THAN TWO CHILDREN)
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29249/?

4) Dovahkinder Collection Replacer: This should cause your children to be dressed as they are in the picture. (THIS IS REQUIRED
FOR SOME PEOPLE) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/45642/?

MY ADVICE IS TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL FOUR OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED DLC AND OR MODS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF ANY OF MY CHILDREN. ALSO PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU FOLLOW WHATEVER REQUIREMENTS THESE EXTRAS NEED!!!

WARNING: If you have a subpar computer or you do not follow my instructions and then your game crashes, this is not a fault of mine or my mod! Also, if you leave infantile or obnoxious comments I will delete them!

Now, I'll explain how to create your own vanilla adoptable child with the Creation Kit. I'm not sure if there are other tutorials about this but I have come up completely dry while looking for this info. Whatever mods you already have for children; new facial features, clothing, etc...should be available while creating the child NPC.

I suggest taking a look at this tutorial video and learning how to load multiple master files prior to attempting to create anything worthwhile with the Creation Kit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og7L_8KepiM

MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE TO CREATE A BRAND NEW CHARACTER! If you don't know how to do this, I suggest taking a look at this tutorial video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFHbusKVqZ0

TRAITS TAB:

1) Create character ID...I suggest something like <MODNameofyourcharacter> without these (< >) of course.
2) Name your character... <First Middle Last> or however you would like their name to appear in game.
3) Short name: I usually keep this the same as the name because this is what you will see mostly while playing.
4) Pick child's race
5) Check box for female or leave blank for male
a) Leave the skin, height far away model box, weapons, alignment, disposition, death and opposite gender alone.
b) You can change the weight to 0 if you like but I haven't noticed it making much of a difference.
6) Choose female/male child voice type.

STATS TAB:

1) All you need to do on this page is check the Auto calc stats and choose the child class at the bottom.
2) Under your ID, Name, Short name...check boxes Essential, Unique and Invulnerable and then click OK to save.
3) Search for MOD and click on it to pull it back up.

FACTION TAB:

1) Right click in window and choose new and select BYOHRelationshipAdoptableFaction (ADOPTABLE NOT ADOPTION)
2) Highlight 0 in the window and change it to 1 (NOT -1)

RELATIONSHIP TAB:

1) Right click window and choose new.
2) Leave the ID blank
3) Parent NPC should be the name of the character that you are currently working on
4) Child NPC needs to be set as player
5) I always choose |Relationship Level (Ally)
6) Change nothing else and click OK and it should pop up in the window.

AI PACKAGES:

1) I usually choose DefaultSandboxCurrentLocation1024
2) Click drop down window for Default Package List and choose DefaultMasterPackageList

INVENTORY:

1) Choose any type of child's clothing you like

CHARACTER GEN PARTS:

1) Create NPC's looks

CHARACTER MORPHS:

1) Further options for NPC's looks.

FINAL STEPS:

1) Click OK to save your progress so far
2) Place your NPC wherever you want them (choose somewhere fairly easy to access)
3) After placing your NPC, click the button that looks like a floppy disk and save your NPC (I usually use the same name as the character ID I chose)
4) After doing step 3, highlight your NPC in the right side of the Object Window and click the floppy disk once more for good measure.
5) Give the game a trail run and see if it worked...Good luck!
