A Brief Note

In my opinion, this game is not balanced. You will get maps that are too wicked for you at your skill level at times. However, the game lets you revisit levels to grind up a little bit and there is a broken trap set up that will get you through some really rough spots. I have found the game to be fun, frustrating, rage inducing, and addicting all at once. If you get stuck, it's OK to grind for gems and all that.

GREED: Learning x20
BRUTE: Linkage x10
BRUTE: Portal Guardian x20
GREED: Wealth x15
ELITE: Singularity x50
* then get the swinging ax and get the most expensive upgrades (to trait level 3)
* then get black hole with most expensive upgrades next to the swinging ax
* then get freezing trap with deep freeze across or just in front of the ax
* you can pair the freezing trap with a bolt trap at trait 3 mastery

BRUTE: Upkeep x15
BRUTE: Deconstruction x5
BRUTE: Wealth x5
BRUTE: Brute Force x10
BRUTE: Swiftness x50
BRUTE: Upkeep x15 (to 30)
ELITE: Trait Mastery x10
BRUTE: Brute Force x20 (to 30)
ELITE: Cutting Edge x50

Singularity is a totally broken skill but makes some of the near impossible set ups possible. This set up is not infallible, but it will get you out of extremely tough spots when built around the swinging ax.


Bonus Preferences
  • bonus to favorite traps (avoid dart trap though)
  • bonus skill points
  • bonus gems
  • bonus to increased rarity (stop around +5%, check by hovering over your level)
  • bonus to starting gold (you get +50 gold per level after 1st level anyway)
  • bonus quantity of items
  • other bonuses

Boss Levels
Dark Dungeon - Mysterious Challenger (Horseman)
The Arcane Library - The Arch-Mage (Wizard)
The Plagued Grotto - The Harbringer of Plague (Giant Frog) *
Vain - Dr. Balanced (Giant Mech) *
Holy Sanctum - two Shield Knights *

Using the cheese ax-singularity combo here is almost essential to beat these maps.


Secret Maps
Unlock by beating ethereal maps near the key maps--listed in parentheses.
If a map is unlocked, but not completed and not touching another map, if you leave the game before completing it, it will disappear and need to be unlocked again. I found this out the hard way.
