Description
This fairly lightweight, and universally compatible mod includes historical political leaders to spawn in the USA, CSA, Texas, and now Mexico! I have included roughly 300 leaders, and I plan to add more. It also simulates the two-party system in the USA, by making:

The "Rural Folk", interest group will become part of the Democratic Party, after the Civil War.
With, the "Industrialists," a part of the "Whigs", and later the "Republicans", instead of the ahistorical "Free Trade Party"

Some of the examples of added leaders include: William Jennings Bryan, Huey Long, Woodrow Wilson, Stephen A. Douglas, Robert La Follette, James Blaine, Calvin Coolidge, Eugene Debs, William McKinley, John Tyler and many, many more.

(note I have also included about 30 additional real life generals for USA)

The character won't resemble their real life counterpart, but they have traits, ideologies, and interest group that are matched with their political positions, and personality.

Abe Lincoln, who exists in the vanilla game also has been edited, to only spawn starting in 1850. I've noticed he becomes President way too much in the 1830s, and 1840s, which breaks immersion

I found that (at least in game version 1.1.2) this mod breaks the display of communist parties in every country; they generate with no name and a smiley face placeholder icon.

Thank you!

Calling it the Populist Party is still inaccurate, but the movement made up a few different parties over the years. One idea might be to call it the "Populist Movement" or "Grange Movement" as opposed to directly referring to it as a party at this time.

@Commiechu I will take that advice in terms of the People's Party. Good idea. And Debs isn't a Democrat, his interest group is the trade unionists.

Do you mean that Debs is in the game as a Democratic Party leader? He was a Democrat for most of its time period, but not as a well-known person. By the time he came to national prominence he was on his way out the door.

In regards to the shift from the People's Party to the Democrats - the party system was not really so set in stone at the time and the People's Party as well as the Grangers and Farmers alliance had much more influence among many people than the Democrats.

It's WJB first Presidential run that really ties the Agrarian movement to the Democrats on the national stage, so maybe you could model this to change by event in the post-civil war era, as opposed to before?
