Description
VFM is a comprehensive overhaul mod for Victoria 3 that aims to be a successor to the many mods that expanded on and improved Victoria 2, with a major focus on creating a more historically immersive and content-filled experience with selective and optional railroading when preferred

The mod features contributions from former developers on GFM and TGC for Victoria 2, as well as multiple founding members of the Victoria 2 Modding Server and the Victoria 3 Mod Co-op. Our goal is to make changes that make the mod feel like what we'd expect from the game years down the line.

Major new features:

*Centralization law group.

*New AI strategies and optimizations. The way the ai selects techs, building locations and evaluates things have been improved while keeping immersive differences in behavior depending on the ai strategies active.

*Major effort to make each country and region feel more different. Such as with new state traits,
more regional resource constraints, new harvest condition potato blight and mid 1800s potato famine, earthquakes, changed effect and
chance for harvest conditions to happen, disasters have a larger impact.

*New production methods for various buildings such as farms, tool workshops and shipyards.

*New technologies such as advanced crop rotation, metal tools, colonial administration, lithography.

*Reworked colonization. Native resistance is a lot more realistic and challenging.

*Complete overhaul with lots of new content for Persia.

*New content for Prussia/Germany, Sweden, France, Ottomans, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

*Minor additions to some other countries such as Austria, North Italy, China, Russia.

*Tweaks to the economy, laws and overall game balance to make the game more challenging and realistic.

*Tweaked pop growth and migration to be more realistic.

*Increased pop detail, mostly for Europe.

*Compatible with Hail Columbia, use for USA content.

*Improved secessions.

*Various bugfixes both lesser known and known from mods such as bugfix 1.8.6 and Victorian Tweaks Mod have been incorporated into VFM already. You should not apply minor mods that claim to fix certain aspects of the game.

--- WARNING ---
The mod does not have any clear graphical indication that it has been loaded and DOES NOT have the map changes anymore that used to be present before 2024. Sadly those map changes were never really functional and had to be abandoned due to causing spline crashes.

DO NOT report that your 'mod doesn't load' just because you can't see any change in the main menu, load a country that is listed as having content and check first.

Companies seem to be broken, even if selected they don't establish.

Game throws constant error of this type when viewing characters:

[21:06:13][jomini_script_system.cpp:270]: Script system error!
Error: is_subject_of trigger [ Invalid Country! ]
Script location: file: gfx/portraits/portrait_modifiers/01_accessories.txt line: 2463

Easily fixed by adding "exists = c:TUR" to the AND statement at line 2463 in the accessories file. Possibly only an issue if the Ottomans are annexed.

coa_def_lesser_subject_trigger scripted trigger (in vfm_coa_triggers.txt) also throws continuous errors by looking for "is_subject_type = subject_type_dependency" when subject_type_dependency isn't defined (maybe just a remnant from older versions of mod/game)

Are later techs supposed to be almost impossible to research even with high literacy? Even if hard focused it seems you might be able to squeeze out 2 tier 5 techs at max by 1936

There has to be a bug with this mod. When you are playing as the Ottomans and win the war against Egypt, reclaiming Syria and Reducing their otonomy in the process Egypt just says fuck you anyways and leaves the power bloc the day after you enforce peace on them.

The mod is fire but why did you remove all the minor nations and the names for countries, that gave it a lot of flavour, could you bring back small this like the countty names (Austria to austrian empire for example) or some minor nations to make the borders look somewhat realistic bc its weird to see ottoman libya have the same borders has nowdays libya. Thank you

Can't play post 1870s because the game keeps crashing over and over again, I can barely play for 2 months before it crashes again. Please fix these frequent crashes.
