How to run Anomaly and Mod Organizer 2 through Steam

This guide helps you play Anomaly with ModOrganizer and track your hours through Call of Pripyat.

This guide helps you play Anomaly with Mod Organizer and track your hours through Steam. I personally use this to track my hours in GAMMA, but the steps works with Escape from Pripyat or any other Mod Organizer mods.

This guide will not help you set up Mod Organizer or explain how to install the mods. It is assumed that you already have a running copy of GAMMA, Escape from Pripyat or whichever mods you choose to play with.

Please make sure you back up all your folders beforehand and follow these steps carefully since missing something will most likely result in you having to start over. For GAMMA, please refer to the last section of the guide.

Prerequisites

- A freshly installed steam copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat
- The Fallout Launcher Replacer for Steam, found on Nexus
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21364
- A copy of Anomaly, Escape from Pripyat or any other STALKER mod of choice

Step 1

Open your steam Call of Pripyat folder and delete all content, so that the folder is empty.

Step 2

Paste your Anomaly content into the empty Call of Pripyat folder

Step 3

Extract and place the FalloutLauncher Replacer in your CoP folder.

Step 4

Rename the FalloutLauncher.exe to Stalker-COP.exe and create a new file called FalloutLauncher.ini

Step 5

Open Mod Organizer and create a shortcut to your anomaly launcher on the desktop.

Step 6

Right click on your desktop shortcut and select properties, then copy and paste the Target field into your FalloutLauncher.ini file.

Write [Mod Organizer] at the top of your file and organise it so that the Path is set to the ModOrganizer.exe and the Arguments is set to the Anomaly Launcher. See below for example.



Please note that your path might be different. In my case I have installed MO2 inside the CoP folder. This is not necessary.

Step 7

Next, you want to copy your Stalker-COP.exe and your FalloutLauncher.ini files and place them in the bin folder within your Call of Pripyat folder.

Now you should have one set of Stalker-COP.exe and FalloutLauncher.ini in the bin folder, and one set in the parent folder Call of Pripyat.

In your bin folder, rename Stalker-COP.exe to xrEngine.exe

All done!

Now when you launch Stalker COP on Steam you should be met with this menu.



Select 3 and you should be redirected to the Anomaly Launcher with CoP running on Steam. Clicking play should start Anomaly with Mod Organizer running.

Edit: A few people have mentioned that they needed to restart their PC after all the steps have been completed, so if you're running into issues please give that a go.

A few people have asked how this works with GAMMA, since you have 2 folder, one for Anomaly, and one for GAMMA.

What I have done for this is that I keep both the GAMMA and Anomaly folder under C:\, since having too long of a path name can cause errors. I then delete everything from the Steam Stalker CoP folder except for the bin folder.

Finally you will paste in the FalloutLauncher, rename it to Stalker-CoP.exe and create the FalloutLauncer.ini just as described but having the path pointing to the folder in your drive.

Then copy both those files into the bin folder and rename Stalker-CoP.exe to xrEngine.exe



Your Steam folder should look like this.

It work and track time but NO steam overlay ?

I got it to work but there is one issue
after picking 3 to launch MO2, steam no longer shows me playing/tracks my gametime even though the game is running perfectly

If you go to stalker call of pripyat properties on steam and use the argument --start mo , you go straight to the stalker anomaly when launch
