RENFE 7600 series (276)

Description
RENFE 7600/8600 series ATLSHOM, Belfort(France), 1954
At the beginning of the 1950s, RENFE undertook a large number of electrifications throughout the country, using 3000V current, instead of the classic 1500V used by Norte since 1926 and during the 1940s by RENFE. Due to the use of this new voltage, RENFE needed a large number of locomotives for all kinds of services.
In this way, between 1952 and 1955, 3 projects for new 3000V locomotives were developed: the 7600 series, those included in this mod, the 7700, British-made and CC running, and the 7800, built by Baldwin and BBB running. The first project was the 7600 series, a locomotive with two bogies with three axles each (CC) and designed for all types of services. The model was based on the CC7100 series of the French SNCF, also designed by ALSTHOM, but adapting it to the needs of Spanish roads. In this way, a transmission different from the French model was mounted, giving a maximum speed of 110km/h, compared to 160km/h for the CC7100.
The first 20 locomotives of the series were manufactured by ALSTHOM at its Belfort factory and were delivered in 1954. An order for another 110 units was added to these, being manufactured by GEE, General Electric Spain, and being delivered between 1954 and 1962. Originally they were assigned to the Barcelona and Alcazar de San Juan depots, dealing with express and fast trains between Madrid and the Mediterranean. Later, many were moved to the Madrid-Atocha and Cerro-Negro deposits, remaining in use until the mid-1990s.
This Mod adds the 7600 locomotives, later the 276 series, to the game, with five liveries: ALSTHOM green, turquoise blue, ALSTHOM green with UIC numbering, RENFE UN and RENFE AVE. The models include their own sounds and animations of pantographs and other parts, as well as asset versions for decorations.
