At the corner of Rue Pierre Jônain and Allée Prévost, this interesting villa has taken full advantage of its particular location. The two apartments that make it up are distinguished by their volumetry. A stone masonry treatment prevents a parallelepiped of white concrete from crushing the ground floor. Reinforced by the implementation of a roof with double inverted sides, this effect of gravity gives the whole a fragile immobility. The oblique edges of the gable wall, accentuated by the beveled cut of the railings, tend to unbalance the building. Taking advantage of the setback of the main facade, two terraces are superimposed. Connected by a staircase, they offer independent access to each dwelling and extend the stays towards the south. The single-storey living room is closed by a chamfered bay window which accompanies the passer-by in his walk. While the traditional window with sliding shutters has been used for all the rooms, the kitchen is hidden behind a glass gap made in the stone base. Looking back, you will see a small translucent globe on the roof. It provides blind rooms with overhead light, just as the English courtyard in the garden illuminates the basement. Jean-Roger Francq, talented project manager, will be associated as head of operation with Yves Salier for the reconstruction of block 50.
