[Calamity] Sulphurous Sea switched sides after migrating FIX!

So, you migrated your calamity world 1.3->1.4 and discovered that what was once your ocean has been turned into a hostile wasteland, or rather you were taking a dip in the abyss only to discover that the unimaginable terrors are no where to be seen?
Fear not my fellow terrarian! In this guide, you no longer have to create a new world and ditch all the builds you worked so hard on for a fresh world with a new abyss.
In this guide you will learn how to put the Ocean and the Sulphurous Sea back where they were before you migrated it!

So, you migrated your world. The ocean is a wasteland now!

I too have encountered this very specific bug, I have scoured the entire internet to see if anyone else had found a way to fix the solution instead of: "jUsT cREaTe a NEw wOrLD!!!1" but to no avail.

After about 2 hours of trial and error and some research about the way Terraria handles it's worlds. I can confidently say that I have come to a conclusion to fix this very annoying issue!

Step 0:

Before you go ahead and start messing inside around your world files I must say, and I cannot stress this enough is:

BACKUP YOUR WORLDS!

World corruption (not the biome) can do more damage than a silly little mixup! If you want to play your world again, I suggest you create a copy of it and put it somewhere safe.

Like that 10 TB hard drive you have dedicated to the almighty Crabulon.

Step 1:

First things first, you want to download a NBT editor. The one I use in this tutorial is NBTExplorer, designed for editing Minecraft Inventories. Found Here[github.com].

The next step you probably want to take is to set the world into Revengeance.
This is due to the way Calamity handles NBT data, Revengeance is a simple and effortless way to add a Data Slot into your terraria world, and it can be instantly fixed again by re-toggling it in game.

Step 2:

Close Terraria and your BACKED UP WORLD. And open up your NBT Editor.

In your Editor, you are going to want to Open your world's .twld file. It contains all the NBT data for that world!



Open up the 'modData' Subcategory, and search for Calamity Mod's 'MiscWorldStateSystem'.
Open up the 'downed' Subcategory, and your screen should look something like this.

Step 3:

Change the value: 'revenge' into 'abyssSide'. The reason I had you set the world into revengeance is because in NBT Explorer, you cannot insert new values in a list, you can only edit them. Next to prevent you from getting bullied by Adult Eidolon Wyrms the moment you step foot over the sea, is to set the value 'abyssChasmBottom' to 1450.

Now your NBT data should look something like this:




Save the data, and close the NBT editor.

All Done!

Well, if you followed the steps right. When you revisit your ocean, you should meet the peaceful chimes and calming waves of the sea it should be.

Hey guys don't know if anybody will need this but if your abyss decided to swap sides download cheat mod theres an item called something like abyss side switcher just cheat it in switches the sides no files hassling at all. also works in infernum

for large infernum (v1.9.29) worlds the abyss bottom value is 3000 to fix the void layer

One thing is you dont need revengence mode, you can change anything. I changed catname and it still worked, my cat also still has its name

uhhhh... i went through with this, but all acidwood in my world completely vanished, now one of my friends is pissed at me because his acidwood house just completely dissapeared
