Cars from Movies and TV-series in GTA V
От BadTrip
There are several iconic cars in the game from movies and TV-series. Some of them obvious, some of them a bit more obscure. It can be tricky to get an exact match due to limitations in the game, but you can come very close to the point where you will recognise it immediately if you've watched the movie or TV-series.

This guide is not complete, but it's a start. I will continue adding content as it's added or I find them. Please feel free to add other cars and suggestions in the comments. I WILL feature your suggestions if possible, but be patient. I would like to keep all the cars I feature and a lot of them are expensive.

Basic information
Some people have asked for help how to recreate their favourite vehicle. If you have issues finding something, let me know in the comments, but generally these are the steps:

1. Find reference pictures of the car in question. Preferably from different angles so you can see all the details.

2. Find what vehicle is suitable for the project. GTABASE (shout out to you guys) is really helpful, but just googling it is also a way.

3. Buy the vehicle (duh!)

4. If you own one of the garages, preferably the Autoshop which makes the process cheaper, do 5. there.

5. I generally just start to play around to see what is available before I commit. It will save you money. I jump back and forth to the reference pictures and try to find what is closest to IRL. This can take a little time and you very likely will have to compromise a bit.

6. Drive around and pretend you are [insert movie star here]. Don't lie and say you aren't, because we all know you are.
1. The Last of the V8s - Mad Max
The Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe 1973 "V8 Interceptor" was driven by Max Rockatansky, Mad Max, in the movie with the same name. It was modified for the movie to become a police interceptor, specialised for hunting down outlaws.

The iconic car is first seen in the MFP garage when Max, that has quit since he is tired of the violent job, is baited to return to the force. It's evidently super charged, with the intake sticking out of the hood. It's also different from the other MFP vehicles in that it's black with only some emblems in gold. The other police cars are yellow with roof mounted police lights.

In GTA V the base vehicle is called Vapid Imperator and you can buy it through the Arena Wars shop. To modify some parts of it, you need to own a Arena Wars garage (mainly to remove the armour plating). The rest can be done in an ordinary garage or the LS car meet.

You can come pretty close to the real thing with the Imperator with some minor details that you won't be able to change.

1. The intake is considerably larger than it's movie counterpart, even with the smallest one fitted.
2. The head lamps have a yellow border around them which you can't get in the game.

There are some other differences as well, but if you've seen the movie you will recognise the car immediately.

The movie has one factual error and that is that the super charger is switched on by pulling a red switch on the gear stick. In real life, the super charger is driven by the cam shaft and is always active just as a turbo charger.

2. Aston Martin DBS - The Persuaders!
Perhaps a little bit more obscure is the car driven by Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) in the TV-series The Persuaders! The series was initially aired in 1971-72 and featured two protagonists that solved cases that the regular police failed to do. Roger More, as mentioned above, played one of them and Tony Curtis played the other one, Danny Wilde. Danny drove a Ferrari Dino 246 GT.

In GTA V Online, you can come pretty close to the DBS by getting the Dewbauchee Rapid GT Classic. There will be some more evident differences between the real deal and the game, mainly in the nose. But, if you mod it sparingly and paint it in a darker yellow, you will definitely have the same feel as in the TV-series.

Highly recommend to you to watch this series that is more like The Saint than e.g. James Bond. Oh.. and the main theme music is really good. I'm not kidding, it is. Go and listen to it now. Do it!

3. Aston Martin DB5 - James Bond
If number 2 was a bit obscure, this one should not be difficult to recognise. Another British car driven by James Bond in several movies (list below). It's a beautiful car, some argue it even to be the most beautiful ever created.

It started in the series in Goldfinger where it's handled, roughly at times, by Sean Connery.
And now you can pour yourself a Vodka Martini, throw your hat towards Miss Moneypenny and fire your machine guns at unsuspecting bystanders yourself.

In GTA V you can buy the DEWBAUCHEE JB 700 or JB 700W. The only difference between them is that the 700W is bought through Warstock Cache & Carry and is more expensive since it has weapons by default.

As far as similarities go, it's really close to the original. The nose is slightly different and lacks the creases the original car has, but it's such a small difference that you will hardly notice it unless you are a Aston Martin fanatic.

James Bond appearances:
1964 - Goldfinger
1965 - Thunderball
1995 - GoldenEye
1997 - Tomorrow Never Dies
2006 - Casino Royale
2012 - Skyfall
2015 - Spectre
2021 - No Time To Die

The car has also been featured in several other games and it's also in another movie below, the Cannonball run.

Goldfinger has perhaps the best dialogue between Bond and the main antagonist:
James Bond: "Do you expect me to talk?"
Auric Goldfinger: "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"
4. 1932 Ford Coupe - American Graffiti
This car is like a character in the movie, featured to drive (no pun intended) the final part of it. I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it. In the movie it belongs to John Milner, one of the main characters. Likely Milner has converted the car into a hot rod himself, since he works as a mechanic.
The paint job is described by Harrison Ford's character Bob Falfa as "Sorta a cross between Piss Yellow and Puke Green" (not my words).

In GTA V you recreate the hot rod by buying the Vapid Hustler. When you mod it you will get pretty close to the original, with mainly the engine and exhaust being impossible to replicate. You can also only completely remove the fenders whereas the original car has small cycle ones bolted on.

However, it's so close that you will be able to answer the question: "Where were you in '62?" while you cruise Hollywood boulevard.

"Can I have a Cherry Coke and 2 boxes of 9mm, please?"
5. DMC DeLorean - Back to the future trilogy
If you didn't see this one coming, it's on you. Likely one of the most recognisable movie cars ever with it's brushed stainless-steel body and gull-wing doors.

In GTA V, the car is called Imponte Deluxo and has a rather hefty price-tag (likely due to how iconic it is and that it's weaponised). Yes, it flies and it also has machine guns and missiles making it a rather useful vehicle and a alternative to a helicopter. To fit or change the weapons, you need a Mobile Operations Center. It also handles more like a helicopter and makes it easy to avoid traffic if needed although it's actually faster on the ground than in the air.

Visually it's almost identical to the real thing. However, you won't be able to replicate the time machine since there is no option to add the Flux capacitor, the metal bumpers, electrical wiring and the displays inside. You can hit 88 mph though, but without any result.

This is about as much fun you can have outside of the bedroom.

Unfortunately the company, DeLorean Motor Company (DMC), made some critical mistakes and had to fold, so it's a quite rare car in real life. However, you can get one for yourself now in the game and, Great Scott!, it hits that nostalgia nerve.
6. Lotus Esprit - James Bond
Another British Bond car made it on the list: Lotus Esprit.
The Esprit appeared twice in the movies and the first one is the more famous.
1. The Spy Who Loved Me - 1977

This is one of the most, if not THE most, tricked out Bond vehicles. It has weapons, defensive counter measures and can turn into a submarine (more about that later).

2. For Your Eyes Only - 1981
There are actually two Esprites in this movie. The first one (White) blows up when the bad guys try to break into it. The second one has a copper metallic paint job and has no features apart from a integral roof rack for skis.

If you have run out of Vodka Martini and olives, you can replenish your stock by buying the Ocelot Ardent from the Warstock Cache & Carry for a price of $1,150,000. It's not in the regular car shops since it's a weaponised vehicle. As you can see in the picture, it's pretty close to the original but the nose is more inspired by the editions from the late 90s and more rounded.
Unlike the original, it can't turn into a submarine and it doesn't have AA missiles.

Which brings us to that in the game there actually is a second car that could fit the description:
The Ocelot Stromberg. However, that car is based on a Maserati Bora and even if it can turn into a submarine and somewhat resembles the Lotus, it's body doesn't have that wedge shape but more of a wavy one.
7. 1983 GMC Vandura van - The A-Team
Likely your situation in GTA V is very close to the A-Team's: You are on the run from a crime "you didn't commit". Be so as it may, this is probably the most known van in the world. It served as the A-Team's main transportation and sported a black/metallic grey paint job with red stripes, red rims and a bull-bar. The TV-series ran from 1983-1987.

The GMC Vandura was manufactured from the early 70s into the 90s more or less unchanged. Yeah, it's innovation like that that explains the soaring car business in Detroit.

In GTA V you can buy the van Declasse Gang Burrito. It more or less has the best fit you will get when you buy it, and usually you just have to change the secondary colour to red.
The original van actually wasn't all black, as mentioned above. The section above the red stripe was metallic grey. You can't match that in the game together with that the stripe just continues back instead of meeting up with the roof spoiler. But, hey, you can't have everything.

"I pity the fool!"
8. 1968 Ford Mustang - Bullitt
Arguably the first great car chase in movie history happened in the movie Bullitt. In the movie from 1968, Steve McQueen plays the Lieutenant Frank Bullitt in SFPD. His car is a dark green 68 Ford Mustang and in the famous car chase up and down San Francisco's hilly streets, he's chased by a Dodge Charger.
Considering that they had no CG effects e t c back then, it's pretty amazing how they managed to make that car chase look so good with only real driving and practical effects used.

A lot, if not all, car chases since then has that as the benchmark. In the movie Ronin, e.g., they opted to do all the car chases in the same way to get the same feeling.

Now you can power slide yourself if you buy the Vapid Ellie and paint it dark green. There are some differences between the car in Bullitt and GTA V. Most noticeably, you can't remove the scoop on the hood, which the car in the movie didn't have. Apart from that, it's pretty close to the real deal.

No cars were harmed during the production. I promise.
9. 1950 Mercury - Cobra
Cobra from 1986 is a B-movie regardless of how you look at it. Cliches stacked on a stack of cliches and it got a pretty bad reception. It has since become sort of a cult movie as it sometimes happens.

Sylvester Stallone plays Marion "Cobra" Cobretti , a LAPD cop, who rather asks questions to a corpse in a morgue than in a interrogation room.

Cobra was nominated for six Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Sylvester Stallone), Worst Actress (Brigitte Nielsen), Worst Supporting Actor and Worst New Star (both for Brian Thompson) and Worst Screenplay. Yeah.. GG.

In the movie he drives a custom 1950 Mercury Eight with three stunt doubles made for the action scenes where he e.g. jumps out of the second floor of a car park. The movie might stink, but the car is more bad-ass than Cobra himself. The car is painted metallic grey with brushed aluminium (not aluminum) hubcaps. In GTA V the car is called Albany Hermes and you can get a pretty good resemblance to the original. You can't get the hood intake though and the wheels are a bit off as well.
But you can intimidate the Hispanic gangs by just cruising around in their varrio. Maybe they've seen the movie as well.

"You're the decease and I'm the cure.."

The character Sheriff from Cars was a 1949 Mercury Police Cruiser, and that is arguably both a better movie and acting performance.
10. 1986 Ferrari Testarossa - Miami Vice
Miami Vice (1984-1989) made a lot of things famous. Many of todays A-list actors appeared as side kicks or protagonists. It also kick started the Italian fashion style with T-shirt under a Armani suit jacket and slippers with no socks all over the world. The series' visual design forbid any earth colours and it was more or less a MTV music video where popular songs created the beat to the drug trading Miami of the 1980s.

James "Sonny" Crockett Sonny Crocket (Don Johnson) and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) are two undercover Police detectives working for the Metro-Dade Police Department. The crimes they solve, more often than not by giving the bad guys an unhealthy dose of lead poisoning, more or less followed real crimes committed in Miami. However, a lot of focus is on trying to stop the avalanche of Colombian marching powder that is flooding the streets and all the crimes that follows it.

The first two seasons Sonny is driving a custom black Ferrari Daytona Spyder. This car however is blown up and is replaced a couple of episodes later with a white Ferrari Testarossa. A fun fact about that Daytona is that the car actually was a replica and not a real Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari was not amused by this at all but they resolved it by providing the production with the real deal, the Testarossa, instead. Everyone was happy, and I can only assume that Ferrari didn't lose any money on the business since the TV-series was one of the hottest shows during the mid to late 80s.

The Testarossa (Italian for redhead) is a beautiful machine and if girls had pictures of Don Johnson hanging on the walls, boys had posters of this or the Lamborghini Countach (will be featured later). The Pininfarina-designed car had a very female shaped body and would hold up even it came out today.

In GTA V you can drive a Testarossa if you buy the Grotti Cheetah Classic. It comes close to the original with some small differences:
1. The hood can't be replicated
2. The engine cover is different
3. The side air vents, that is perhaps the most prominent feature of the Testarossa, can't be fitted.

For the wheels, the closest I could get was the Five Star in the Tuner section.

So, if you want to go back to an era when you could smoke everywhere, the hairspray business was at an all time high and you could save money by not wearing socks, you can just open your wallet and buy the Cheetah Classic.
11. 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S - The Cannonball Run
The Cannonball Run is a comedy from 1981 that featured and had cameos from a quite large range of A-class actors and celebrities. The movie is based on a real "race": Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash that was run 5 times between 1971 and 1979.

In the movie, the main protagonist, JJ McClure, is acted by Burt Reynolds and they drive an Dodge Tradesman ambulance fitted with a NASCAR engine. However, that's not the car we are going to feature here.

Jill Rivers (Tara Buckman) and Marcie Thatcher (Adrienne Barbeau), two well "equipped" ladies, drive a black Lamborghini Countach LP400S. By today's standard the LP400S had a modest 350 bhp output and didn't even have fuel injection in it's 4l V12. Still, it's sci-fi look and very aggressive styling compared to most super cars from the era, made it a child hood dream for many boys. It was designed by the Bertone design studio.

The car in the movie was fitted with a front-wing spoiler and the lore around it varies depending on the source. Some say it was a way around the US regulation for front bumpers (which sounds like the most reasonable explanation). Regardless, it looks awful and I would rather be pulled over every 100m instead of keeping that on the car.

The Pegassi Torero in all it's morning glory.

Now, this is a treat, you can buy the Pegassi Torero in GTA V, and it's one of those that are almost identical to the original movie car. There are some slight differences and e.g. the car in the movie featured a 12-pipe exhaust that you can't get in the game. The tyres also doesn't look as fat the original ones, but apart from that it's as close as you are going to get.

If you are in the mood for a movie with a good plot, The Cannonball run doesn't have one. It doesn't really feature anything apart from A-list celebs, slapstick jokes and cars. That's it. No more, no less. And I guess it didn't even try to be anything else. But, damn, that Lambo looks great and the sound from it's 4l V12 does probably enrage every single Green Peace activist on earth.

Oh, I almost forgot, there is a second Torero in the game now called Pegassi Torero XO that is based on the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4.
12. 1967 Austin Mini Cooper S - The Italian Job
This entry is going to be a little bit different in that I'm going to explain why a car isn't in the guide. But then again.. it is. I guess it's Movie car inception.

The Italian Job from 1969 is a comedy heist movie for those that haven't seen it. And, yes, in my opinion it's better than the remake from 2003. Since I'm not doing a review, I'm going to leave the plot aside and just mention that the heist cars in the movie are 3 Austin Minis (Red, white and blue).

Now, you can buy a Weeny Issi Classic in the game (an amalgamation of a 1967-1970 Mini and a Trabant, model unknown), but you can't really do anything useful with it except fitting stupid carbon fibre parts. I even checked what you can do with it in the Arena War garage (since it's part of that), but all that does, not entirely unexpected, is turning it into a Mad Max car.

The car that could have been

And, in my opinion, this is a great missed opportunity. This is as an iconic car as any on the list, and you can already do similar things to the Grotti Brioso 300 which turns it into even a bigger mystery to me. If you read this R*, you should put some effort into this.

Maybe it will come in a future update and if so, I will of course customise it, but for now.. upwards and onward.

One fun fact about it though, is that the movie was close to using Fiat 500s instead, which would have been supplied by Fiat, but the production company decided that keeping the British vehicles would be more fitting. And rightfully so.
13. 1994 Toyota Supra MK IV - The Fast and the Furious
The movie from 2001 isn't by far unique by featuring street racing e t c. That has been done plenty of times before and after. What it did though was to kick start, at least in the western countries, the interest in modding mainly Japanese cars. This has of course been big in Japan (no pun intended) for quite some time and has spawned such iconic modded cars as the Nissan GTR. The Japanese seem to be able to take any car and make them better. Even German ones.

The movie itself won't win any prizes for having a deep plot. It follows the recipe of movies such as Point Break (in which you apparently can solve crimes by surfing and skydiving). You take some activity that is hot and wrap a plot around it to justify the movie. Nothing new with that.
In The Fast and the Furious, Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) is a undercover cop trying to bust a highway heist gang. He tries to infiltrate the underground racing community by participating in illegal street races. Which take place at night. So the neon kits and lights looks good.
However, he loses the first race and since it's a pink slip race and his car is destroyed, he has to find a replacement.

Enter the 1994 Toyota Supra which he brings to Dominic's garage, the guy that he lost to and is played by Vin Diesel. Vin Diesel, what a great name for a guy in a car movie. Lets move on.

In GTA V there is a Supra that matches and it's called Dinka Jester Classic. It was introduced with the After Hours update, so unfortunately it's not as moddable as some of the newer cars that came with the Los Santos Tuners e.g. With that said, it doesn't look half bad and you will come quite close to the car from the movie.

The things I noticed that won't be matching is:
- The front bumper which is rounder and has two extra fog lights and that simply isn't in the game
- The wing since I could only find the carbon one to be close enough for my liking

The rest is pretty close though. I fitted the Speedboy wheels, painted it metallic orange and gave it the 10 Minute Car livery (which is really close but obviously different for copy right reasons).
The rest should be easy to figure out when you play around with it.

Remember to only race at night so people can see your expensive neon lights.

So, if you feel that you aren't fast and furious enough this is the project for you.
14. 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT-8 - Breaking Bad
I have to admit, I stopped watching this series when it became a social commentary instead of what the trailer promised. The first episode was great, but I have no idea why the American productions are so hell bent on delivering "the message". Ah.. well. Let's focus on the cars.

Walter White, high school chemistry teacher soon to become drug lord, starts out by driving a 2004 Pontiac Aztek. And that ladies and germs, is one godawful car that both didn't know what it was and had an atrocious design. Luckily for us, it's not in the game.

However, in the episode "Fifty-One" he picks up a Chrysler 300 SRT-8.

Now, you can't pick that particular car up in the game unless you mod it in, but there are some alternatives that are close enough for you to experience the dangerous life style of a Crystal Meth drug dealer. Some have suggested one of the the Enus vehicles, but they are based on Bentley cars. So, unless R* adds it in the future, we'll have to compromise a bit here.

So, let's have a look at the facts:
- It's a muscle car
- in a 2010s model
- Black

If you are on a budget (which I am right now since I will feature a quite expensive project soon) one of the Bravado Buffalos can act as a stand in. They aren't that close but they aren't completely off either. There are three different models in the game:
- Bravado Buffalo
- Bravado Buffalo S
- Bravado Buffalo STX

The first Buffalo is the generic car that you can see driving around in the streets and to be honest, the difference between it and the S-model is rather slim. However, since it's a volume car, the modelling of it has it's limitations to save memory in the game. Hence, I opted for the S.
It's only 96K GTA Pesos so it doesn't hurt that much either and it's based on on a Dodge Charger SRT8 so it ticks the three boxes mentioned above.

It can snow in the desert.

I didn't really do that much to the car except for changing the grill, set both primary and secondary paint to black and put chrome Endo v.1 wheels from the Sport section and called it a day. The wheels are the only expensive part of it.

Even if it's not that much of a match, I still wanted to feature this as an example that you sometimes have to compromise a little and use your imagination a bit.

Time to buy that house in Sandy Shores and if you have some ideas on how to get a better result, let me know.
15. 1982 Pontiac Trans Am - Knight Rider
Who doesn't want a car that talks to you? Well, if you are married, likely you are getting enough instructions while driving anyway so it might be redundant and now we are so used to Googlemaps and other services giving us verbal information so it's no big deal anymore, but in the 80s it was as hot as Pamela Anderson in her red swimming suit.

Knight Rider, the original series, ran from 1982 to 1986 and featured David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight together with his sidekick KITT (or K.I.T.T) which is a modified 1982 Pontiac Trans Am.
The franchise had several sequels, but we'll focus on the first one. Michael Knight and KITT are crime fighters and they have somewhat assistance from the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). Most of the cases they solve revolves around people getting into trouble with some big organisation, company or crime syndicate. And aren't they lucky that the Hoff is around. Some say his crime fighting ability was enhanced by having his shirt open to expose his hairy chest, but nothing has been confirmed.

KITT stands for Knight Industries Two Thousand. Here's a list of at least some it's features:
  • Two CRT video display monitors
  • In-dash entertainment system
  • Money dispenser
  • Oxygen dispenser
  • Ultraphonic Chemical Analyzer
  • Front-mounted scanner bar (Anamorphic Equalizer)
  • Graphic Translator system
  • Microwave jamming system

The Anamorphic Equalizer is that red light bar in the nose that pulsates, sweeps or otherwise lights up in different patterns depending on what the car is doing. The 2 CRT monitors in the dashboard provided the output from the various systems. It's Anharmonic Synthesizer (for speech) and Etymotic Equalizer (audio input) allows the "self-aware" cybernetic logic module to communicate with humans. KITT is armored with "Tri-Helical Plasteel 1000 MBS" and together with a special paintjob it makes the car indestructible. You can get a full list on Wikipedia.

With the Import/Export update, the Imponte Ruiner 2000 was added. It's a variant on the standard Imponte Ruiner with a more rounded and modern look.

You can buy it from Warstock Cache & Carry and you better sit down now. Are you sitting down? Good, it has a rather hefty price tag and I don't want to be sued: 5,745,600$ unless you unlock the trading price by doing a Special Vehicle Work Mission. You can't even buy this vehicle unless you have a Vehicle Warehouse which in turn requires a CEO Office. This since the car is stored in the underground garage of that warehouse. The quirkiness doesn't stop there either: You can't modify it anywhere but in a LSC (Los Santos Customs). At least I couldn't. My Autoshop together with the Arena war garage refused it. The MOC and the LSC carmeet did the same. However, that is a minor detail. What is a bit more interesting though is that the customisations are rather limited, at least the visual ones. You can modify the Engine, Suspension e t c as on most vehicles, but it more or less ends there. However, as you can see in the pictures, apart from the wheels it's KITT out of the box so you don't really need to do anything to it.

The stock wheels are completely off though compared to KITT, so you will have to replace them.
I did a quick list of wheels that somewhat looks like the originals:

  • Stove Top
  • Retro turbofan
  • Nebula
  • Super Fin
  • Turbine

I guess it's a matter of taste which one you put on since there isn't an exact match anyway. I used the Stove Top.

Since it's a weaponised vehicle it comes with machineguns and missiles (both types). It has a parachute and a jump (power hop) mechanism as well. Personally I would like to be able to remove the weapons since I find it really annoying to drive around with the targeting reticle.

So, if you have a rather large wad of cash, your shirt unbuttoned and are eating pizza on the kitchen floor (we've all been there) get yourself KITT and cause havoc on anything that dares to breathe or have a heartbeat.

Oh, and it comes with a swooshing sound from that Anamorphic Equalizer. No extra charge.

16. 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu - Drive
Drive from 2011 could be a classic Wild West movie in the vein of Clint Eastwood's movies with a sprinkle of Bullitt. You have a flawed antihero that somehow manages to do the right thing in spite of being just as bad as the bad guys. As the movie progresses, it becomes pretty clear that Ryan Gosling's character, "Driver", is a sociopath and he becomes more and more violent and it doesn't seem to bother him whatsoever. We get to know small fragments about him, but the whole puzzle, including his real name, is kept as a mystery. And at the end he rides off into the night without us really knowing anything about him. It's evident that he's a good driver though, both from his choice of nocturnal job and that he shows his skills on the race track.

The movie starts with him doing a getaway drive and he drives a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. His personal car is a 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu though. We never really get a good look at his car either, but if you piece together the images you can make out most of the details.

In GTA V the Declasse Tulip is actually modelled after the 1972 Chevelle Malibu with bits from the 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. The thing that differs the most between the car in the movie and the game is the round tail lights that you can't get. The Tulips rear is more like the Declasse Stallion's with vertical tail lights. The model itself is more geared towards being modded as a muscle car with whatever that incorporates. Hence, to try to mimic the movie, you have to go easy on the customisation.

I chose the Bluish Silver as main colour and Chrome as the secondary (this chromes the bumpers e.g.). The wheels aren't available though, not that I could find anyway. I chose the Concave Steelie which also have holes like in the movie but unfortunately they don't come in a chrome version. They aren't flat as the originals but I guess it will have to do.

I dare to say that the intro was part of what reignited the whole synthwave movement with the song Nightcall by Kavinsky.

Now, run off and save a mamsell by beating up a lot of bad guys.
17. Aston Martin DB10 - Spectre
The top left picture is the Dewbauchee Specter and the top right is the Dewbauchee Specter Custom.

Spectre (2015) is the 24th movie in the James Bond series. Daniel Craig is James Bond and Christoph Waltz plays Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the criminal mastermind behind the organisation Spectre.

In my opinion it's one of the weaker Bond movies and I base that on the anticlimax when Bond meets Blofeld which to me felt "Ehr.. so he sort of just shows up?". It didn't have that tension building up when Bond maybe had to infiltrate an underwater base or something. But that's my personal opinion.

The Aston Martin DB10 was specially made for the movie. Only 10 of them were hand built and 8 of those were used in the movie. Quite impressive I think, since it's not many productions that can say they had a fleet of hand built cars from a luxury car company. But then again, Aston Martin and the Bond franchise have been in a symbiosis for quite some time and I have to assume it's a win-win for both of them.

The car has a 4.7 L AJ37 V8 producing 430bhp and accelerates 0-100 km/h in 4.3s. The top speed is noted down as 310 km/h. It is based on the V8 Vantage which was introduced a couple of years later. It features Swan doors which means that they open like normal car doors but at an angle to clear curbs e t c.

In GTA V you can buy the Dewbauchee Specter (modelled after Aston Martin DB10/One-77, Porsche 918 and Mercedes-McLaren SLR). This can also be upgraded in Benny's Original Motor Works from where you also have to buy it. The upgraded version, Dewbauchee Specter Custom, features a lot more modding option. At a fee, of course. $252,000 of them. It's not a weaponised car unlike in the movie. The custom version is even a little bit closer to the original since it's based on the Aston Martin DB10 and Aston Martin Vantage GT8.

You can't get the bespoke rims the original car has, so you will have to compromise a bit. I chose the Mercie ch.lip and painted them Frost White. I didn't actually do much else to it since most of the options are carbon fibre racing kits. I painted it with the brushed aluminium. It's hard to see in the pictures, so likely you can get away with metallic silver as well, but I thought it looked good.

This car feels at home at any movie set.

Needless to say, if you are a Bond-fan you need this car. Don't tell Q though since he likely would get very upset if he found out what you are doing to it.
18. Ford Mustang GT - Death Race (2008)
Paul W.S. Anderson's remake of the 1975 movie with (almost) the same name is what it says on the tin. They tried to shoehorn in some love story at the end, but since that is the last part, you can just skip it. You haven't missed a thing. Apart from that, it's a brutal car movie with a lot of practical driving instead of CG. And I like it. It gives the vehicles weight, which I most often think they miss when they 3D-animate it.

The setting is a little bit different from the original movie where they were racing on open roads in ridiculous kit-cars. David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone are the biggest names from that version. In the remake the environment has changed to a high security prison, Terminal Island Penitentiary, where you can earn your freedom by killing other drivers on the track. It has very much the same feeling as Escape from New York in that it's supposed to be a dystopian USA with extreme high crime rate. Very much like Detroit in real life.

Jason Statham plays the same role as David Carradine, Frankenstein. Well, technically he plays Jensen Ames, but if you watch it, you'll see what I mean. Frankenstein is a legendary racer, patched up after countless crashes that almost killed him. He drives a Ford Mustang GT, mutated into a battle vehicle, that is as patched up as he is.

The races are streamed live on Internet as a PPV, earning the warden a decent profit on the demise of inmates.
The race takes place over 3 days in stages, and the last man standing wins. Do that 5 times and you have earned your freedom.

Like mentioned earlier, they preferred real driving to special effects and it shows. Frankenstein's Mustang was sent out to get a nice performance upgrade which made it possible for it to spin it's wheels at will even with all the extra stuff bolted onto it. It's a true Frankenstein's Monster, heavily armoured, has two mini-guns mounted on top of the hood and perhaps the most recognisable feature: The Tombstone, a heavy armour shield to protect it from the rear. This shield can also be dropped as a defensive weapon.

In GTA V, you can buy or "borrow" a Vapid Dominator. If you own the Arena workshop, you can modify it there for a price. As usual, the off-the-bat modified car looks more like something from Mad Max, but you can remove some of it to make it look more like the Death Race car.
The Tombstone comes with it per default, and obviously that is inspired by the movie.
It has some tube framing externally which the car in the movie didn't have, and unfortunately you can't remove that feature. You can remove the ramming weapon in the front though and you can fit two .50 cal machine guns on the hood. No mini-guns.

All in all, you will definitely recognise the car, even with the extra stuff that you can't remove. I opted for a black matte paint job and the Solar wheels (which was the closest I could find compared to the original).

I can think of no better car for re-inacting Carmageddon (for those that remember that game) and it's like it's born to powerslide through a crowd for those extra style points.

+ZDamage Yeah, I was thinking about it but haven't done it yet since there might be copy right issues. You know how stingy the bastards can be, but it's a good idea and I will see what I can do.

Well, it helps if you've watched the movies of course. Secondly, just get some reference images. Then, spend A LOT of money buying the cars. Left is only to play around in your garage to find the best fit. As said, most of the time you can't recreate it 1:1 since, likely due to copyright reasons, the exact match is not in the game. However, personally I find it enjoyable to drive around in a vehicle that is close to the movie's.
