Description

HMS Hood is a battlecruiser of the British Navy. Named after Samuel Hood, an English admiral of the 18th-19th centuries. During the construction of the Hood, it was planned to take into account the experience of the Battle of Jutland, as a result of which the British Navy lost three battlecruisers.

The steamer began to move slowly away but on the landward horizon appeared the silhouette of a fighting machine. Another came, and another, striding over hills and trees, plunging far out to sea and blocking the exit of the steamer. Between them lay the silent, grey Ironclad "Thunder Child".
