JavTools: Hide Objects In Game

Description
I was surprised that there wasn't an option to simply hide an object in the game. As a GM, I may want characters pre-staged, or tools that are visible only to me, but that are within easy reach on the board. So I created a simple tool that allows me to do just that.

By right-clicking on the object, you can now hide it (it will darken to indicate that it's hidden) and unhide it. Only the GM, and the player who hid it will be able to see the object. All of these settings will persist through saves and loads, as well.

Additionally, if you wish to have the concept of "ownership" of an object, it's possible to drop it on the "owner" injector, and then only the user (and the GM) who owns it can use the hide functionality.

Want to have those fancy lighting effects in your scene, but grew tired of fiddling with having to use the gizmo to shrink the light generators down to 0,0,0, which then makes them impossible to remove? Just hide them. Hidden light effects will continue to create the light, but the players won't see the object generating it. Create candles that light up your scenes realistically now!

Finally, because the injectors do a "smart injection," they should be compatible with other plugins that also add code to the objects (but make sure you use those objects first before adding the additional functionality.) So you shouldn't be limited to only using one plugin set at a time.

I may expand these tools in the future if they're popular enough.

Thank you so much for making this. I have been fighting with the TTS fog of war for almost five hours now trying to make my war game work. I used this, worked almost immediately. I genuinely cannot thank you enough.

This is an old mod at this point, but still does what I'm looking for. Thanks!

However, the hidden items turning black means similar items are hard to visually tell apart. Does anyone know what I need to alter in the script to have hidden items stay the default white?

I am also a forever DM who just switched to TTS, how has this been for you? Some players of mine would much rather have roll20 due to fog of war being better on that site than the TTS. I plan on trying this on Friday. :)

Reverse Hide is impossible with this tool right? (everyone see object except one player)

A great use for this would be on the blocks for Wizard Kings.

Take all the time you need, of course. But I'd love to tie weapons (and lights from your other mod) to mini's and have them be invisible too! That's what I mostly use this for: hiding enemies from my players' view until they come into play. Great work regardless though!

@Kili : Interesting. Hadn't considered tying in joined objects. I'm currently working on my "Scene Manager" and trying to get joined objects to carry over their joins in the scene there. That code will be helpful in having me figure out how to do that here. I'll work on it, but it'll be a hot minute.

Hi Javin! This is great, but I'd like to ask if it's possible to add a feature: When I place an object on here that has attached items (say, a mini holding a shield) the hide functionality only works for the miniature, and thus reveals a floating shield still. Could it be possible to include linked or attached items?
