Falkands War 2, 2024

Description
Argentina has decided to once again invade and occupy the Falkland Islands, buoyed by their acquisition of brand new fighter jets and deadly Chinese anti-ship ballistic missiles. They believe that this time the threat of these weapons to any carrier group will be enough to dissuade the Royal Navy from responding. They are wrong.

A carrier Strike group led by HMS Queen Elizabeth with two squadrons of F-35B Lightning II stealth fighters has set sail and will be the tip of the spear.

Author's Note: This is a fictionalised scenario based on the latest information about possible acquisitions by the Argentine Air Force and a hypothetical situation where they acquire Chinese DF-21Ds. There are set objectives, but it's very much meant to be a play-it-your-way scenario, so you have freedom to use the resources available to complete the mission in the best way you can.

The carrier group destroys with missiles reaching speeds of 6,000 knots. Just an ultimate weapon. Why long-range harpoons for Orion aircraft or the same f35s are not loaded on His Majesty's aircraft carrier is a mystery to me. It's too far to the island base with Typhoon planes. Since the enemy has superiority in the flotilla, the main goal is to load the aircraft carrier group with anti-ship missiles and Tomogawks capable of hitting sea targets. By the way, thanks for the script. Unfortunately, I do not know how to solve problems with the available arsenal.

I think the only thing I spotted was that iirc the side briefing isn't there so you can't cross check your objectives.
I didn't use the land based fighters at all. Interesting to use the varied F-35 loadouts and having ammunition enabled.

Ok I guess Ill try to set up some practice missions first to get a hold of it so I dont ruin the mission and run my fighters out of fuel by accident middle of ocean lol. I assume I would have to only launch the strikes with only certain number of fighters as I doubt there is enough tankers to care for 1 large package?

and yeah I have played with the new mission editor but Its still a little glitchy and you would still have to micro the AI for something this large to workout properly.

It's actually very difficult and I should have explained that in the scenario briefing. You'll need to set up several support missions with tankers along the course of the route, spaced out at intervals of the maximum range of the Typhoons so that they can take refuelling stops there and back. I understand that there's a new mission planner in the beta update that might make things easier but I haven't played with that yet. Using the typhoons is not absolutely necessary to complete the mission though, so don't worry if you can't figure it out. I just wanted to give the option because it is technically possible.

Just curious how do you set up the Typhoons to reach the Falklands and back? I never really understood how long range refueling missions work in CMO. Do you need to set up a mission and add certain number of tankers and the game does it automatically for you? or do you have to do it all manually? I know the original Vulkan bomber raid was very complicated on setting up tankers

Well spotted, I was even thinking about doing it before as it's an alt-future scenario, but I thought it would be too unrealistic

You updated the "her majesty's government" to "His majesty's government" pretty quick.
