Aerondight in Witcher 1(First version)

This is the first version of Aerondight you see. The Aerondight Geralt used in Witcher 1.

Aerondight, the legendary Witcher sword, is perfect for monsters, but it works very well on humans. A very important difference from other silver swords is that it is sharp. Yes, you heard it right, SHARP. Other silver swords are not sharp. Of course, they can be sharpened and sharpened, but their original state is sharp. Aerondight, on the other hand, is originally a sharp sword. And Aerondight's sharpness is not as sharp as an ordinary silver sword sharpened. Aerondight is a razor-sharp sword. And it can even be used as a steel sword. It is not as sharp as a steel sword. But it is very useful.

Now you will say to me: 'Then how can silver swords cut monsters and shed their blood?'

Most monsters are sensitive to silver. For this reason, silver swords are death to monsters. As soon as the silver sword touches the monster, it will cauterize his skin like a lightsaber and inflict a very deep and permanent wound. So you see, silver swords are not as sharp as steel, but because they are covered with silver. They are like razors. They tear the skin of monsters and shed blood. It doesn't have to be just a silver sword. If you touch the skin of a silver-sensitive beast with silver, its skin will be cauterized, opened and it will begin to bleed. For vampires, for example, even the slightest contact with silver can be lethal. At least They will be extremely hurt compared to other monsters. It is a silver sword, but there are two swords that are sharp in their original form, the Aerondight and the Moon Sword.

As you know, Aerondight is a sword that recharges as it hits the enemy. And every time it charges and kills the enemy, it improves itself. When this continues for a certain period of time, the sword level up and changes its form. This must be the biggest feature that makes Aerondight unique. Between Witcher 1 and 2 When the Aerondight is sufficiently charged and discharged in the elapsed time, it levels up and changes form.
Aerondight in Witcher 2(second version)

This is what you see Aerondight in Witcher 2 has leveled up and changed form. Now I must have answered your question marks. That's why Aerondight looks different in Witcher 2.

Unfortunately, Geralt loses Aerondight just as this moves to his second level:

Then, when he goes to Flotsam, Geralt needs a silver sword. And the dwarf in Flotsam says he wants to go to the blacksmith and make him a sword. Geralt says he can't describe it exactly and wants to chart it together. The blacksmith agrees. Geralt and the blacksmith diagram the same second level of Aerondight. And the blacksmith makes this sword. Thus, the Fake Aerondight comes out.

This explains why Geralt has an Aerondight-like sword for the Killing Monsters trailer:

This sword you see is a Fake Aerondight

By the way, what I wrote above is not included in the game. This is a story I made up in my mind. However, it fits the story as 'knock'.

This sword you see is Aerondight from Witcher 3. But not the B&W one. Those who know this sword will know. And you've probably wondered what this sword is all about.

This is the Fake Aerondight sword that we saw in the Killing Monsters Trailer, which I mentioned above. It's just a slightly modified design.

Aerondight in Witcher 3(Third Form)

The sword given to Geralt by the Lady of the Lake in the B&W DLC. The third level and final form of Aerondight, he is the strongest. Of course he is leveling up. then it will stop and the sword will reach its full potential.
Closing...
Thank you very much for reading this far patiently. I would appreciate it if you like it and leave an award...

If you're talking about the fake Aerondight, that's what Geralt calls it.

There is only one true Aerondight. Others are similar swords and I have never seen anyone call them Aerondight.

Why are they called Aerondight then? and why are there so many of them?
LORD VADER  [autor] 14 stycznia 2023 o 13:09
Those swords are not Aerondight, they are similar to Aerondight. It is normal to have swords similar to Aerondight, especially wolf silver swords are similar to Aerondight.

The more important question... Who is making all the offbrand Aerondights?

Thanks for the write up, I think you did a good job of painting the analogy between Geralt and this mythical weapon. I loved the backstory of the sword because of how it shares similarity with Excalibur and it also sometimes gets referred to as "the sword of destiny" (which is one of Geralt's nicknames). I think there is definitely more CD:PR could explore with Geralt and Aerondight's connection (assuming they bring Geralt back out of retirement).
