How to use the Micro H.I.D. | SCP: SL | Tutorial Electric Boogaloo

Micro H.I.D. | Presentation
¿What's the Micro H.I.D.? The Micro H.I.D. by its initials: "Micro High Intensity Discharge Thrower", It's an experimental energy weapon in SCP: Secret Laboratory. Consisting of an extremely powerful weapon, used to contain or destroy SCP's that breach the containment breach.

The origin of the Micro H.I.D. comes from inspiration of the turret H.I.D. in SCP: Containment Breach, used to help recontain SCP-106

Obtaining
There are different ways to get the Micro H.I.D. The mainly used way is to go to their special armory (access card required with Armory Access 3 to open).
In heavy containment zone. The Micro H.I.D. Armory is a hallway that is separated into two sections by a wall and two doors. In this wall contains a breakable glass window. Behind the two doors is a side room cointaining multiple servers racks, similar to the ones seen in the Server Room. This side room has a chance for a Bulletproof Locker to spawn in it, a First Aid Cabinet (up to two), and two Emergency Power Stations can spawn on the wall as well.

In the middle of the side room is a armory that requires Armory Access 3 to open (The door can be destroyed with explosives, SCP-018 and SCP-096 and can be open by SCP-079). The room contains the Micro H.I.D. and a Workstation.

Now the other way to get the Micro H.I.D. is by using the SCP-914 in Light Contaiment Zone. For this it is necessary to have a weapon that can be from a COM-15, to a Logicer, basically any firearm. Now what we will do to upgrade the weapons, is to put them to improve in the Very Fine improvement option until they become a Micro H.I.D, but keep in mind that this process is based on percentages and probabilities, Just don't expect your COM-15 to be directly the Micro H.I.D. In this process, the upgraded weapon is required to be a chaos team weapon (AK, Logicer, Revolver, Shotgun) so that with a probability of 5% to 10%, it can be upgraded to a Micro H.I.D. If the weapon you put becomes a MTF-E11, in these cases you can continue trying with the option of Very Fine

Here's a link to the SCP-914 outputs so you can have a idea of how upgrade the weapons and items. Remember that servers can use plugins to change the outputs for items in SCP-914, or even allow you to change teams. These charts are based off vanilla game, so they may not match up for servers that edit 914 outputs. The most common of these plugins is one that lets people upgrade the Coin into a Keycard.

How works the Micro H.I.D.
The Micro H.I.D. was created by Site-02 and works as a highly powerful weapon.


Using the Micro H.I.D. It is not easy as one would think, because despite having great power, it has some notorious limitations such as a DPS of 1150 damage, it only has a maximum of 10 seconds of firing. The weapon requires a charge time before it can be used against something, which is the main weakness of the weapon because leaves you vulnerable to an SCP or enemy player. The mechanical whirrs and charging sound of the Micro H.I.D. it will cause most players to run away in fear, which means it can be used to create this warning effect without actually actually firing it.

Firing

The Micro H.I.D. can be fired by holding down Left Click to slowly charge up the Micro H.I.D., which will then automatically fire after 5 seconds. In this, it will consume energy while charging up and firing will greatly increase the rate of consumption, you can keep firing until it either runs out of energy or the Left Click is released.
If you hold the right click instead of the left, the Micro H.I.D. will still charge up but, will slowly loose energy without shooting, you can use this to charge the Micro H.I.D. and shoot once your target is in range, but use this mechanic wisely.

  • The weapon can be fired continuously for up to 10 seconds on a full charge.
In Game
  • The Micro H.I.D. can be recharged with SCP-914 with the 1:1, Fine and Very Fine settings.

  • The Micro H.I.D. will break most glass windows it hits but cannot break doors and gates.

  • The Micro H.I.D. will not kill teammates if Friendly Fire is enabled unless the player directly aims at their teammates. This is to avoid accidental kills in game.

  • The Micro H.I.D. does not count as a firearm for inventory limits or hotkeys. which means you can't set a proper special key for it like they're used for cards, weapons or heals.

  • The blast of the Micro H.I.D. deals 90 of damage, so it does a DPS of 1150

  • The pick up time of the Micro H.I.D. is about 4 seconds

  • Having equip the Micro H.I.D. gives you a penality of -50% on stamina
Tactics with the Micro H.I.D.
The following tactics that I will talk about are completely based on my experience in the game, some tactics that I will present to you are:

- Light bulb and micro tactic against SCP-096 "lock her up"
- From Micro H.I.D. to Disruptor "Upgrades, people. Upgrades"
- Trolling in the elevator with the Micro H.I.D "Surprise!"

Light bulb and micro tactic against SCP-096 "lock her up"

This is one of my favorite tactics, it requires only having the Micro H.I.D. and SCP-2176 "Ghostlight".What you will do is look for SCP-096 so that it is alone, this usually happens at the beginning of the round, or when there are direct confrontations between the players and the SCP, in which SCP-096, having received a lot of damage, tend to go back with their fellow SCPs, what you will ideally do is look for it so that you find it away from the other SCPs and proceed to do the following, in a corridor you will throw the "Ghostlight" so that the doors close and SCP-096 does not can escape, what I recommend at this time is not to immediately load the Micro H.I.D. since the room is dark, it can be difficult to see SCP-096, BUT NEVER, NEVER LOOK AT IT, keep looking down as you were doing, once a few seconds (3-5 seconds) have passed, you will activate the Micro H.I.D. ideally with right click, to then point at it once the Micro H.I.D. to shoot, you will look up and immediately press left click to shoot him, in less than 10 seconds you will have eliminated SCP-096, also seeing how it jumped trying to dodge your shot, after finishing there, run away before his companions arrive.

From Micro H.I.D. to 3-X Particle Disruptor "Upgrades, people. Upgrades"

This is one of the things that you will very rarely do, but it is useful to know. It consists of carrying the Micro H.I.D. to SCP-914, to transform it into a rather situational weapon I have to say, which is the 3-X Particle Disruptor. For this, what we will do is put the Micro H.I.D to improve in the coarse configuration, but be careful, the probability that it will become the disruptor is only 40%, because if you are not lucky you will not get the Disruptor, instead your Micro H.I.D. can be recharged for 30% or destroyed for the remaining 30% chance, so you must assume that data when you want to have the 3-X Particle Disruptor.


Trolling in the elevator with the Micro H.I.D. "Surprise!"

This is one of those ways to troll people, with the Micro H.I.D. you can put yourself in one of the gates when people are about to appear again, either as MTF or the chaos insurgency. I recommend having some sweets or an adrenaline so that you can withstand the shots of the other players, when firing the Micro H.I.D. I recommend having it charged when the elevator starts to go down so the charge of the Micro H.I.D. is ready to fire when the elevator doors open and hear how everyone is screaming.
Related Achievements
There are a total of 4 achievements obtainable in SCP:SL related to the use of the Micro H.I.D.
These are the following:
  • Killing an SCP with the Micro H.I.D. grants the Microwave Meal achievement. It's important to be the SCP's direct cause of death, so it counts as you killing it yourself.

  • Jumping into a Tesla Gate while holding the Micro H.I.D. grants the Overcurrent achievement. I recommend not doing it if the Micro H.I.D. is already fully charged

  • As an SCP, killing someone who is firing the Micro H.I.D. grants the I'll Pass, Thanks achievement. This achievement is easy to do if the SCP you are playing as is SCP-939, as it will be easier for you to dodge and kill the wielder of the Micro H.I.D.

  • As SCP-096, dying to the Micro H.I.D. while entering rage mode grants the Involuntary Rage-Quit achievement. It is possible to happen to you more than once as SCP-096 when a player with Micro H.I.D. it finds you alone so that it even locks you up so you can't escape, if you have no interest in getting this achievement again, you can try to dodge the beam of the Micro H.I.D. while you scream for help

Here is a tier list of the difficulty of the achievements. The most difficult to obtain with the Micro, personally, would be the Microwave Meal
