Intro Notes:
I will add and fix things as I find out more or as the game changes.

Update:
As I've went along this ended up much larger than I intended it. I honestly didn't think I would end up being more descriptive than I have been to explain stuff as others still don't quite understand since some of it seemed a little too obvious to me but my writing skills are obviously pretty poor. I need to reorganize it beyond some glaringly obvious corrections but I want to eventually get it more readable and comprehensive format for everyone eventually. So please keep checking here after a while to see what has changed. I honestly didn't want to have to go to a play through of the game to show exactly what I mean but it sounds like I may have to actually do that.
Searching for Sigils:
Where is the letting strip?
On the right hand side of the old cabinet behind the computer desk.

When is the best time to search for sigils?
The best times to search for sigils is while waiting for the print out, you're waiting for the body to drain, or while waiting for tank to finish cleaning. I also recommend looking for one the second you get into the mortuary.

What's the best way to search for sigils?
When waiting for the printout, the body to drain, or the tank to finish cleaning walk along the walls starting from the embalming room, into the hallway to the cold storage, along the walls of cold storage, back into embalming room, into hallway to foyer, along the walls of foyer, and into the bathroom. If you don't find anything check during the next process. After one or two processes are finished you may not find anything until the next process.

The paper burned but I can't find the sigil.
Look EVERYWHERE. It can be on a piece of furniture, a drawer, behind a door, on the door, above the door, in a cabinet, in a picture, in the mirror, or even on the ceiling besides being on the wall. When you burn a letting paper and it appears a sound effect will happen in the direction of where the sigil appeared. On a rare occasion it does glitch and doesn't seem show up but it's rare. If that happens just try by process of elimination.

Examples of where the sigil can hide:

More tips:
  • You can figure out a demon's name by process of elimination after finding 2 to 3 sigils so if you can't find one just make sure to find 2 at least and 3 to be sure.
  • Once you find a sigil make sure to note it down right away as the demon can and will change the sigil.
  • It's best to always keep a letting strip on you.
  • You can hold out a letting strip as you work.

Example of a Demon changing a sigil:

Explaining the "process of elimination":
When you get 2 sigils start looking through the computer's database to see which demon names have these sigils. If many have the same sigils then you only need at least one more sigil to figure out which demon (4 is almost completely unnecessary) otherwise you can tell which demon it is right away. After that it's the matter of telling which body is the possessed. Checking the sigils that show up on their forehead, the sigil that appears in ash, the smiling or change to a smile, or even the slashing. (Which it tends to do often in many of times I've played.)

In these examples I was able to narrow out the demon only by finding out 2 sigils and using the process of elimination. After which I moisturized the demon possessed body's face before sending them off on their bon voyage trip back into hell.
Figuring Out the Mark:
I put a sigil in the wrong spot... now what?
After searching for sigils you can click on the mark and arrange the letters. If you put a sigil in the wrong spot or need to move them around just use other sigils to correctly place them on the mark until you have the correct arrangement.

How to use the Mark:
After you've have the symbols in the right order right click on the body while it's lowered on the gurney.

The demon asked me if I was sure or told me I had the wrong one.
Ignore it. Whether you have it right or wrong the demon will say this regardless and sometimes it's to trick you.

I didn't pick up the mark before bringing the last body to cold storage but now the body is twisted and I can't put down the mark and the doors are locked.
Sometimes you can pick the gurney back up and push it back into cold storage. This will usually open the doors back up so you can go back to pick up the mark. On occasion though it's a glitch and won't allow you. It's best to be sure to pick up the mark before you bring the last body into cold storage.
Figuring Out Which Body is the Demon's Favorite:
Be mindful a demon is a trickster and will attempt to trick you into picking the wrong body. Some of these tells the demon will also do to trick you into picking the wrong body.
(Assuming it's not glitching.)
Do not panic and to be sure you are confident in your choice run through many of these things in this list. I assure you it's not actually luck of the draw. You can easily figure out which is the possessed and which is not once you start to get the game mechanics down.

Tells:
  • Some bodies will only have a smirk or smile while other bodies will constantly be flailing around seemly being possessed. The one doing "nothing" but smiling might be the demon. It may start out smiling or end up smiling later.
  • On occasion the demon will cut the correct body or it will leave a vague sigil like "mark" on one of the arms.
  • The demon is more likely to constantly pull it's favorite body out of cold storage but it also can trick you by pulling other bodies out instead. It's normally when you just enter or wheel another body in. Try checking the second you get in the mortuary sometimes the demon will pull it out right away.
  • The demon will sometimes use it's favorite body more.
  • The body itself will sometimes whisper in the demonic language. Not the same as speaking to you in English.

Things that don't seem to be tells:
  • Events.
The events automatically ramp up as you go along. If you get odd events early on it might be a demon but more often than not it's never been a reliable tell.
For example the body standing up or attacking you.
  • Contorting it's body. All bodies will do that especially in cold storage room at the home stretch of your night.

Some things that MIGHT be tells is other odd marks that don't normally show on the body.

I'm still unsure on some of these but seem to help when finding a demon.

Examples of...
Cuts:

Smiling:

Vague sigil on body:

Example of the demon's favorite body being pulled out of cold storage:

Random unknowns marks that might be tells?:
Saint Peter's cross?
Well I guess it's sideways but it would be upside down if he was to stand up.

Suggestions:
  • Leave the doors open as it's easier to tell if an event is happening.
  • Focus more on trying to figure out the demon's name first rather than figuring out which body but take notes if you see some tells.
  • Take a look at the notes on the computer about demons.
Using the Ashes and Match:
Where are the matches?
In the foyer on a small table between the bathroom and the hallway.

The matches:

Where can I find the cremated remains collection bag?
On a shelf in front of the crematory incinerator.

The collections bag:

Where can I find the ashes/ how do I collect the ashes?
Grab a collection bag and right click below the crematory incinerator door.

Where to collect the ashes:

How do I use the ashes?
While the body is lowered on the gurney right click on body to spread the ashes then right click again over the ashes to use the match.

After using the ashes:

After using the match:

When is the best time to use the ashes?
When you've figured out the demon's name and suspect a certain body but aren't quite sure.

The sigil should absolutely match the same sigil as the demon's name. If it does not then something is wrong and it's usually the name.

Suggestion:
If you're still stumped the drawing on the sticky notes towards the end will reveal the demon's sigil. You could use that to cross reference clues.
Help I can't.../ Cheat sheet:
I'm going to try to keep this as spoiler free as possible.

Help I'm falling through the skybox/ lost in the void and I can't get out.
Reloading the game "should" fix it if not try the night over again.
Void:

Help I can't continue my work:
Look up and around the mortuary.

Where is the regent?
On the top shelf of the old cabinet behind the computer desk.

I can't find everything in the check list

The tubing:

The needle:

The lighter:

The spoon:

The baggy:
[Button didn't activate I will get a picture of it next time but it's the small white baggy on the kitchen counter.]

And I recommend you try to run after this part.

Where are the sobriety coins and pendant?/ Hey where did the sobriety coins and pendant go?
Before you leave to go the mortuary and are still in your apartment the coins and pendant are in a drawer in a green box below the tv and white dresser. When you get to the mortuary the coins and pendant show up in your work box, second drawer, in the same cabinet as cavity fluid is located.

In your apartment:

In your work box:

Where do I use the sobriety coins or pendant?
You have to hand Rebecca the coins during an event while she's hanging in the hallway. The pendant you have to give to her dad while he's on the gurney during a different event. While you're embalming a body when you turn your back to it you will hear her father ask "Why did you let me die?". This is when you give him the pendant. OR alternatively you can give him the necklace during a cut scene where a demon sends you and you find him at the end.

I can't use the pendant:
It doesn't work in the event that forces you to bash his face in.
Seems to be fixed. (I didn't quite check it yet though I didn't have the pendant on me the last time I was at this scene. You couldn't right click before but it appears you can now so should be able to give him the necklace then. I suppose if I'm incorrect I will fix this.)

I can't use the coins:
It's the Rebecca hanging in the hallway not the one in the rehab/ asylum center.
This is the wrong Rebecca.

I can't find the key to the hatch:
There is a keypad the cupboard next to the window. You have to open it to find the key to the hatch.

Where do I find the code?
During one of the events you will be beckoned into the cold storage room where a hatch will appear. If you walk in the hatch it will bring you to a room of statues. The statues have numbers on their forehead and the order they are suppose to be.

Help I still can't figure out the code:
I believe it was 197044.

Help I can't get out of statue hell world:
They key out is always in a random statue's mouth. Just open each statue's mouth until you find it.

I found a door in the old hatch but I can't open it:
There is an old key in the same cabinet as the cavity fluid.

I still can't find the old key:
It's under some papers in the last drawer.

LeoneV, I believe you should use the ashes + matches
on the body you suspect being the good one.

If it is indeed the good one, the House's demon symbol
will appear on body's belly as a result.

As explained in this guide (the ashes + matches use).
deuxpolo Aug 11, 2022 @ 9:02am
@LeoneV then you might want to narrow the search down by using ash & match via the instruction above. It should tell you if that body belongs to the house you suspected or not.

Thanks for the guide, it helped a lot. But there's something I still don't understand, how do I find out which "house" the demon belongs to? I just played a case where there were the same marks on two different houses, but in different orders, I lost because I chose the wrong house.
Is there any way to find out which house is correct? I took the pencil and the paper and keep writing straight but it doesn't reveal the drawing well and I was afraid of ending up being possessed.

Thanks, I think your guide's well written and explicit enough, no worries. :TPBCash:

@destroyermaker
Use the pencil and notepad near the end, it'll tell you what house the demon belongs to. Use that and the 2 sigils to figure out the name.

"In these examples I was able to narrow out the demon only by finding out 2 sigils and using the process of elimination." How exactly?
Voxification Aug 4, 2022 @ 11:13pm
For the Turbo! achievement: Click the button on the front of the computer case, to the left of the computer monitor. An interact icon appears when you mouse over it.
