Where do I start? This is one of the best if not THE best horror game... or should I say horror experience ever. Highly, highly recommend for every horror fan out there and I do not recommend to non-horror fans as this has VERY intense scares and content.

The highlight of this game is that I played this game for 18 hours and got new scares during each shift. I do not know how the developer did this, it rarely repeated the same scares and if it did it would be spaced out enough that it almost felt like a new scare again. It's not only just the jump scares, but new sounds or visuals as well. There are a handful of jump scares that legitimately left me speechless and kind of kept me up at night. I am a long time horror fan and nothing has scared me this much in a loooooong time. Maybe The Conjuring or Paranormal Activity.

The lore of this game is intriguing and I can see them or should I say him, expanding this story in many ways. The main character, Rebecca, is unlikable but likable enough that you're committed to finding out more about her. Raymond is the character I want to know way more about, especially with the 6th ending.
That is the other highlight, getting the 6 endings. It is fun to try to get all of them. All 6 are different. I was never bored during this game, in fact, I just wanted to keep playing but the anxiety slowed me down.
The graphics are fine, nothing out of this world but it definitely did not deter from game play and scares.

Sound design is incredible. From the rain, to knocking on doors, whispering, footsteps to loud jump scares. They are perfect. Recommend headphones. Voice acting is also pretty decent.

In summary, this game is amazing!!!! It is now my favorite horror game (sorry RE2). If you are a horror fan, run to play this game. You will not be disappointed. Also, I recommend playing this with a friend or friends because 1) you won't be alone and 2) you can laugh at each other because everyone will scream. Play in the dark.

I feel like this game has equipped me with the ability to apply for a mortuary assistant job IRL :D

This game is a gift that keeps on giving.
The developer has stated publicly many times before "The game will not receive new content from now on" and such, yet we still somehow find ourselves receiving new things every now and then. New story events, new scares and bodies etc. But hey - I ain't complaining! Sign me the f**k up!

The actual game though?
As the title says - you're working in a mortuary, shocker. Except - embalming bodies is sort of a secondary objective, because the scene (or the body, perhaps) is taken by a demon, and your job is to repel it.
The gameplay revolves around you doing the embalming activities, that's sort of your bread and butter, however the main point of it is for you to get preoccupied with doing something mundane, and that's when the scares hit you, and boy - they hit you good!
Along with the embalming of corpses, you will have to do some investigating in order to find not only the haunted body, but also the identity of the demon occupying it.
This is a great mixture for a horror game, with an already unsettling setting (surrounded by dead bodies, essentially) combined with a mundane task that you have to repeat, and the well crafted, fairly scarce paranormal events create this perfect mixture that works in the games favour very well.

I really, really loved the jumpscares in this game because they mostly just happen around you and stick around either behind you or in the corners of your eyes, just watching you until you look at them. Some of them are more on the subtle side and others are more in-your-face and it's very easy to overlook some of them, which i appreciate a lot personally, because it doesn't feel forced at all if the game allows you to miss stuff. God forbid you happen to be recording and watch the footage back to realise that for the longest time there was a demon or a shadow somewhere in the corner just watching you for A WHILE, which adds to the overall creepiness for me personally.

Voice acting is great here, music is fairly scarce with a few exceptions but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, sometimes less is more. The general audio here is on a very high level, with all sorts of disturbing sounds happening all around, constantly having you on edge.

One thing worth noting - the cutscenes use Mocap technology which in my opinion look great, but it kinda works against each other, if that makes sense? The game doesn't look bad by any means, however the animations feel a little detached, a little out of place because they look "too good" for their environment, and at that they can look a little janky. I do believe that's the dev's first time using mocap technology, so it can only get better from here.

Loved the game! If you enjoy subtle scares like that - you're going to love it too!

The blood doesn't bother me except for the draining of the bodies, and the developer didn't just stop there he added in the noise of the pump which forced me walk behind the front desk to just get away from that noise. It frays the nerves.

I've never been all that great with dead bodies but to have me touch, and get them ready to be burned along with demonic possession made me cringe. Two things I don't like doing is looking at a dead body, and the other is dealing with possession, and couple that with all of the freaky things which happen in the dark corners of every nook, and cranny of the mortuary had me reach my limit of self abuse.

Mortuary Assistant is seriously one of the most scariest games I've ever played, and I've played many but nothing even comes close.

Mortuary Assistant has the same shock value as the movie Exorcist, and the original Evil Dead. The visceral shock of these two movies effected people to the point that some folks had to go get some help.

I played the game for about 3 hours (maybe a bit longer than that), and I had to give up because it scared me so bad. I have no idea who this person is who made this game but he has a talent for knowing what scares people.

Only reason why I haven't uninstalled it is because there is nothing else like it sold today on steam or anywhere else for that matter, also I enjoy the thought I might return to it for a scare once in a while.

To end it all off, the game haunted me for many days afterwards. It's one of the most scariest experiences I've ever had, and that's saying a lot.

Final: Do I think the game is worth it? I sure do, but be warned this is a very scary game, and I'm not kidding. Take my warning seriously. Get ready for an experience which equals the Movie The Exorcist, and The Evil Dead.
