Fighting
1. How to fight in melee.
Your goal to charge weapon up to 99% so you're not getting big delay between hits and maximizing damage.

If both you and your opponent have 1k hp, best tactic is to deal 3 hits with 99% charge and then do quick attack with ~20% charge.

Here is an example:

Difference - 117hp.
With that information next time when you going to be stabbed in a bunker you still have a chance to win a fight. ╰(‵□′)╯

2. Best melee weapon
You might think that there is no combat difference between different type of melee weapon, but you're going to be wrong.

This specific pickaxe has more range than any other weapon.

2.5. Witch staff + Fat skin.
Fat skin provides more range as well so there's huge difference in range between
skinny non-staff player and staff pickaxe enjoyer with fat skin.

But everything has a cost, if you are using staff and fat skin you might head a bug: at very close distance with your opponent you'll start to lose your hits. (They're just going through and don't register).

3. Stimulator.

Stimulator provides with 15% more damage for ~32 seconds and
after you're dealing 20% less damage for ~16 seconds.
It works with throwing too.

Melee thrower on stim ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

[P.S.]Yes, the stim also increases your speed, but since there's no speedometer in the game, we cannot provide you with accurate information.

4. Movement in combat.
It's highly recomended to move while aiming with your melee weapon when someone is trying to shoot you or throw something into you, so it's harder for your opponent to predict your next move.

Always spam aim button when you're looking for someone or something because it gives you view range with very little speed loss, especially if you have a crossbow or sniper rifle.
It really helps when you chase someone with sniper rifle in your hands.

5. South advantage.
It's not a secret that you'll see further if you're going to look up than if you're going to look down.
So here's a tip: always try to start gun fight from south and always try to run away from someone to south.
South advantage provides almost double range compared to "north disadvantage".
If opponent is shooting from south, use cover and try to get around your enemy.

6. Cover in gunfight.
Everyone knows that you can hide behind trees, rocks, snowmens, etc, but a lot of people ignore the fact that you can also hide behind...
berry bushes...

and knocked people.

7. Bonus: Real best melee weapon.
Remember staff pickaxe? Forget about it...

Here's real best melee weapon! ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

If someone managed to get close to you when you where shooting, don't switch to melee, just finish him with your sniper!

Sniper is the best way to deal damage in melee, it's even better than a shotgun at very close range, because with a shotgun you have to fully aim to deal max dmg and at very close range 1-2 shotgun BBs might miss the target.
Yes, there're also downsides:
  • It's only good in 1vs1 fights.
  • Shots are limitted.
  • Hard to craft.
  • You must have some practice before you're going to be good with it in melee.
General things
1. Bunker loot.

There're 3 types of bunkers: close, middle and far ones.
We've opened 20 bunkers of each type and made a conclusion that...
  • MID bunkers contain double the ammount of loot compared to CLOSE ones.
  • FAR bunkers contain triple the ammount of loot compared to CLOSE ones.
[P.S.] Research have been made with gun parts, so thanks to the update, numbers that we've got kinda unrelated now, but ratio of loot must be still actual.

2. Finishing people.
Finishing knocked people with fists is faster than with melee weapon.
But if you really want someone to be dead fast, use your crossbow!

3. Animal behavior.
Everyone knows how smart animals are in PW ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Yes, animal behavior are very random in PW, but you still can learn some tricks about them.
  • Avoid animal attacks by going in "8" line...

  • You can set animals on your opponent if you are running next to each other.
Wolves usually attack 2nd person in a chase because of the delay of their trigger.

  • Your succes of avoiding animal attacks depends on your ping:
↑ Ping = ↑ Range of animal attacks.
4. Bonus: Big bear tricks on The Deep Woods map.

On Deep Woods map one of the survivors should loot The Bear at the begining of the game to increase chances of winning of blue team.

Wolves next to cave are the biggest threat to you, so you have to wait until they gone or you have to fight them.
Here's the plan:
  1. Spawn wolves and harvest some herbs.
    Perfect spot:

  2. Fight the wolves or wait.
Wolves cannot pass zone between cave area and bunker area below,
you can use that to heal up

  3. Loot the Bear. You have about 10 seconds until he realizes that something is wrong.

If you really want to kill a Bear use a rock on the right side of the cave.
    It's gonna take some time...

Maybe add the thing about spamming attacks on wolves and bear to stagger-lock them, I see so many people fighting them like they'd fight other players

8 line isn't ideal for wolves since you'll be going in a direct collision course with them sooner or later, maybe add the hint about spamming on wolves to stun them instead.
