Lag Remover

Descripción
Lag Remover configurably removes gore and dust and text to reduce frame lag in intense fights.
It can also remove projectiles that are too far from the player to be relevant.
If you are using an item (amethyst staff, golden shower, etc) with dust-only projectiles that turn invisible, set "dust mode" to "show all" if you want to see them (they still exist and do damage anyway). Turning "Reduce dust by chance" will still reduce a ton of dust, and use the lowest "1 in x" number you can still see your weapon with for best performance.

@Nobodyewe didn't see the comment about multi not working-- i'm not sure, maybe something changed? I'm pretty sure people were using it in MP before, are you sure you can't join one with JUST this mod enabled?

But try this version out? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2984135617 It should be client-only flagged and load fine.

work fine in singleplayer, but dont work in multiplayer, cant even open the server or join one with the mod enabled

won't be implemented, don't want to add the overhead of checking them for performance reasons
also doesn't make sense in multiplayer without adding even more overhead or risking desync
but with that said, there's basically no situation where a projectile will be close enough to you for that to matter and also be despawned; the default despawn range is -pretty big-

Pretty good tbh.

would like a feature where projectiles moving towards you aren't deleted but projectiles moving away from you (and too far away) are removed though.

Ah, I see. Unfortunately the mod is working as intended, but if I have time at some point I could perhaps implement a dust whitelist for these situations.
In the meantime, you can set "Dust Mode" from "Hide All" to "Show All" (or "Hide in Boss fights") and turn ON "Reduce dust by chance".
Any setting for "1 in x" 3 or above or so should still show enough to track the projectile, but the default is 7 anyway and should look basically normal.
(Lower = better performance, higher = less dust removal aka better graphics)
As you said, the actual projectile (which apparently doesn't have its own sprite these days, just dust) still functions albeit invisible, so no actual gameplay impact here besides harder to see what you're doing.

If you come across any other (besides gem staffs) weapon/projectile that has a similar completely invisible projectile or animation with "1 in x" set to 7 (and dust:show_all and reduce_by_chance:on), please definitely let me know.

For example, an amethyst staff and other objects made of precious stones. In fact, they work and even cause damage to enemies, but the projectiles fired by the staffs have become invisible, this also applies to some staffs from hard mode and books.

shells? i'm not sure what you mean
can you list a specific item name (or mob/etc, and if what mod it comes from), in english?

The magic staffs have lost their shells, how can I fix this?

I used this when I had a crappy pc, and I'd say It helped.
