Storyteller Version 2.1

Description
Storyteller is a pixel art, role-playing, board game which aims to bridge a divide in the gaming community between hardcore role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or Savage Worlds (to name a few) and more simple board gaming experiences like Monopoly or Munchkin.

What I’ve created brings ideas from both types of game and rolls them into one, creating an accessible, but rich and deep experience that I hope people will want to play over and over again.

15/06/2024 - Update 4: Visual Tweaks and More Balancing.
- Updated one of The Assassin's skills to be Level II Utility (as intended) from Level III.
- Balanced The Mage's Fireball skill to be less powerful overall as it could unintentionally stack with several other buffs from levelling and other bonuses.
- Balanced several perks in the rulebook.
- Updated rulebook to reflect proper size comparison to the intentions of the finished game.

27/04/2023 - Update 3: More Visual updates to cards and more stat balances.
- Changed The Fighter's Class Trait and swapped it onto their weapon trait. Class trait now gives extra HP for levelling Endurance.
- Fighter's Weapon Trait now grants the ability to intercept an attack that would cause fatal damage. The amount of times you can do this are dictated by the quality of your weapon. The Relic version allows unlimited uses.
- Changed The Mage's Armour Trait to be more relevant to the class. It heals when taking damage, but you can instead choose to add this bonus to your next Dark Spell.
- Fireball damage reduced from 2D6 to 2+1D6. This is to curb power creep as players get stronger and pick perks that can essentially make the game far too easy.
- Renamed all Relic Gear to have a proper name. Relic Plate Armour is now Hadrian's Bulwark. Relic Robes are now Eos' Radiant Garb. Relic Leather Armour is now Aeturnum's Ward.
- Changed descriptions on a number of items and equipment to reflect the theme of the game better.

20/04/2023 - Update 2: Visual update to cards, plus more stat balances between enemies and adventurers. Damage types added, though no functionality exists where it's applicable in the game yet.
- Balanced The Beginning to create more fun moments and a sense of power in players right from the start.
- Balance through all elements of the game from equipment to enemies.

11/10/2022 - Update 1: Visual update to cards, plus some minor stat balances. Perk balance issues from previous version addressed. Detailed list of changes as follows:
- Balanced Starting stats for Fighter, Assassin and Mage to reflect differences in their Base Attributes, Weapon Skill and Agility.
- Reviewed Class Trait for Fighter: Rampart now works as intended so that the attack is resolved against The Fighter, instead of simply suffering the effects of the attack.
- Changed the Story Phase Help card. Mostly just wording to clear up confusion, but Combat focus now gives EITHER 2D6 SP, OR 1D6 damage for the next Combat.
- Changed REST to only do HP on a Story Card and MAINTAIN DEFENSES to restore max DEF on a Story Card. This is to promote greater choice in Story Phase actions, and to make DEF more relevant.
- Changed Revive from "restore a downed player with 1D6 HP and ALL AP" to "Current AP and 1HP". This should force more clutch moments and gambles, as well as some more strategic play with AP.
- Changed SPEED Skill to add +1d6 damage for every failed outclass whilst using Speed.
- Added New Perk: - Action Man - If you take fatal damage, you can use any remaining AP as HP instead.
- Added New Perk: - Marathon Runner - You can spend 2HP or 1DEF per turn to gain 1AP.
- Added New Perk: - Thorns - Every time you take damage, deal 1 HP damage to the attacker.
- Changed Rulebook Page 16 to correctly show which page the perks are on.
- Changed Rulebook to reflect changes on Story Phase and Combat help cards.
- Changed DEF so that players can use it as a shield of sorts, whereby suffering fatal damage to HP, DEF can be used instead.
