Introduction
Hey everyone,

Recently I got into making Rust skins and never realized how straightforward it can be. Within one day, I watched a little over an hour of videos and created my own skin. The reason I'm sharing this is that others may find this interesting as I did. In case anyone is interested, here are some amazing links and YouTube channels that have helped me a bunch and could perhaps help you greatly as well.
Programs I Use
What programs I used:
Paintnet[www.getpaint.net] (or any photo editor tbh)
Adobe Substance 3D Painter[www.adobe.com] (You can get a free 30-day trial)

These two programs are what you really need to get started. You can get the Models from the Workshop>Create New Item section in the Rust menu.
Videos/Channels that helped me
Brown Bear - He has a lot of very basic tutorials to get you all squared away. This channel can help a lot to configure your Substance 3D Painter.

GrumpySpanner - Very good intro on how to make very basic skins using a photo editor.

Jeby Persern - A great 40-minute video on how to get started making multi-layered skins with different textures. This video also goes through the process of making a skin and what tools are used.
Conclusion
Through these channels and videos as well as other questions I looked up on Google, you can really make amazing things. I would recommend giving it an hour or two if you are even remotely interested especially with the free trial of Substance 3D Painter and the many other free resources. Also, if there are any other basic questions or feedback, I'll be active in the comments. Thanks for reading!

(Also, if you were wondering, this was the skin I created: (GLOW) POLICE - AK-47)
