No More Shield Banging

Description
Removes the annoying shield banging sound effect that plays when armies are besieging provinces. Armies will still do the shield banging animation, but no sound will play.

This mod is fully achievement and ironman compatible, as it doesn't change the checksum. This also means it works in multiplayer.

Credit and thanks go to Owlcoholic from the CK3 Mod Co-op discord server for showing me which files to modify to remove the shield banging sounds, as well as how to make and upload a mod to Steam. Thanks, Owl!

Compatibility: this mod modifies the .asset files in all of the unit folders in the gfx/models/units/infantry folder.

Note: you may still hear shield banging sounds if you're using a mod that adds units to the game, such as Unit Packs Expanded. Because this mod only removes the shield banging sound from vanilla units, it has no effect on units from mods, since they have their own unique .asset files. Ideally, there would be alternative versions of those mods that don't include shield banging sounds in their custom units, or just no shield banging sounds in the first place, but sadly this doesn't seem to be a priority for other mod authors.

@Sculptor Read the mod description, specifically the last paragraph. I was aware of that when I made the mod, and It's not a compatibility issue. Unit Packs Expanded has its own .asset files that have to be edited to disable the shield banging sounds, and only the mod authors of UPE can do that. I only edited the vanilla unit .asset files because those are the only unit files I have access to.

The mod still does what exactly what it's meant to do if you're only using vanilla units. Unless you're willing to dive into UPE's .asset files and modify them yourself to disable the shield banging sound, which is very easy to do and I can provide instructions for how to do it.

Also, not sure why you're saying "they used to work together." This mod never disabled UPE's shield banging sounds. I think you may have just been playing in a part of the game map where none of the added units from UPE were present.

Sadly a little out of date now. It's no longer compatible with the latest version of Unit Packs Expanded. They used to work together, but not anymore. Works fine so far with everything else in my LO. But, yea, if you're hearing the sound and you've UPE installed, that's probably the reason.
