Description
Please leave a vote or comment if you download this asset! This is a lvl 2 (3x3) low commercial corner. I found this pretty cute building in Gettysburg when I visited there. It's quite dilapidated, but in the model it got a restoration. :)

About the model
You can always follow my assetcreations on the Simtropolis forums: http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/68841-darfs-buildings-the-dorilton-new-victory-theater/ or on sketchfab: https://sketchfab.com/sannie01

This model has been created through my new work flow. This workflow is more detailed. This means it can also be used in first and third person games. This building has 12.9K tris and I scaled down the texture to 3072x1024. This model has a custom LoD, which is between 60 tris with a 256x256 texture, with a diffuse, specular, color and illumination map. A more detailed version can be attained through Patreon.

The model makes use of the additive shader for the billboards in the front. It also features a colormap for the colored middle pillars.

RICO
If you want this building added to your RICO buildings, add it in the settings menu, under growables. I recommend using the realistic population mod, this will calculate the amount of occupants in the building.

About the buildings
This Beaux Arts structure was designed as a movie theater in 1916 although it was never actually used for that purpose. The original owner Frank Eberhart (who also owned the New Eagle Hotel across the street) decided to change direction and turn it into a service station with a 150 car garage extending off the back. That decision was likely based on the potential competition that might arise from another recently built theater in town. Today locals refer to it as the Epley Building - named after its second owner C.W. Epley.

Initially the name Eberhart appeared within the crest-like releif directly above the central window. Old postcards refer to the building as The New Eberhart Garage and depict four glass-top gas pumps along the sidewalk.

Architects for this building were G.F. Gemmill and W.B. Billmeyer who designed several prominent Beaux Arts style buildings in New York City.

Love this...spent a year living about half a block north of this (toward the tracks/college).

From what I understand after looking at it, it's not done. They have the original light fixtures removed and there is some sort of wooden frame on the upper part of the building near the roof. I believe it might be a couple year long project. But it's LONG over due. The economy is growing in town and they are building more shopping and restaurants out by 15/30. The historical society has been preventing any kind of commercial expansion. They even protest building anything on the field between Giant and the Peebles plaza because its a "Confederate Staging area" WTF cares IMO. I want more options, having to go to Hanover for everything is a pain!

Looks a lot better yeah! They should have kept the woodwork and ornaments in their original paint though. Now it´s all white. :D

sorry I don't, also, this building is on the register of the Library of Congress. I believe it's also been designated as a national historic landmark. It is quite over the top for a garage. I always thought this at one time was a bank. Really love the art deco style of it

You got any pics? Hope they kept the terracotta work. I'm curious. :)

I can report that a few days ago, I noticed they repainted this building in a pale white/grey. It looks much better than it did.
