Description
Experience the Cycles of History
As we know from history, the decline of a powerful Empire can often be just as, if not more interesting than it's rise. This mod seeks to implement such interesting scenarios into Stellaris, which previously did not have them.

  • Powerful empires will begin to accumulate decay over time, proportional to their strength relative to the average power of nearby states.

  • Over time, the decay will manifest in crises of variable magnitude which erode the strength of the hegemonic nation until it reaches a breaking point, when an imperial collapse will begin.

  • Once enough decay has been accumulated, and the Empire is paralyzed by constant crisis, it will begin to fracture into smaller states, as shown in the screenshots. Eventually all but the heartland will be lost, and you must pick of the peaces of what was lost.

But the game does not end there. It is possible to survive the collapse of your Empire, and re-emerge onto the interstellar scene even more powerful than before thanks to permanent bonuses gained each time the Cycle is endured.

It works, but it can get tedious if the events are not handled right

I tried it, the situation still seems to work. What I am not sure about is if the fracture event (when your empire is divided) is working fine(I just played a bit with this mod, so I don't know. I triggered the cutural situation though)

I'm starting a campaign with this mod, ill follow up with a verification that it works as of 3.10 after a few hours
