All achievements for GFWL & multiplayer in GTA IV

This guide describes how to get all achievements in Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes from Liberty City for Games for Windows LIVE and Xbox App by downgrading the Steam version of the game and by using trainer and saves. Also multiplayer will become available.

Description

If for some reason you want to open all achievements in Games for Windows LIVE or in the Xbox App, but you are too lazy to farm them, then this guide is for you.

Recently, I remembered that I was unable to open all achievements in GFWL and found out that they are synchronized with the Xbox App, I got a burning desire to open all the missing achievements as soon as possible, but after downloading GTA IV I realized that it would not be so easy, since GFWL was removed and achievements doesn't count in the Xbox App. Searching through a lot of sources and information on how to get back GFWL and get achievements, I have found the fastest ways to farm all the achievements.





Also here is described a way how to play multiplayer which is dead

Instructions for downgrading and activating GFWL

1. You need to install a clean Steam version of GTA IV (I advise you to completely delete GTA IV folder from your directory so that there are no extra files). You can also try to install a pirated version of the game, but I don't guarantee anything, everything was done in a Steam version.
   
   
2. Download all files and firstly move ONLY files from DownGrader folder to the Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV
   
   Password: 1111

3. Run downgrader (Patch8.bat)
   
   
4. Move rest of the files from OtherFiles folder to the Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV
   
   
5. Download saves and move them along the path: User\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\user and random characters

   You can find Local by clicking on the search icon and entering %appdata% there, then go to the appdata folder.
   
   
6. Enter the game and press HOME button to log in GFWL. If it asks for a key then enter one of these:

   If an error occurs or there is a slow loading then follow this instruction:

• First of all download this file[drive.google.com]
  
  
• Open it (password: gfwl) and run gfwl.reg, click "Yes" and then restart the game.
  
  
  
• In the main menu everything should look like in the screenshot below, but at this stage I advise you to relaunch gfwl.reg.
  
  
  
• Add the GFWL profile and enter the key again, after that you will enter your profile and now you will notice that Sign In has changed to Play. This means that you were able to log in GFWL and now achievements and multiplayer are available for you.

Multiplayer

After all manipulations multiplayer should be working, but, as mentioned above, you probably won't find other people, because he is dead, but you can still have fun in Liberty City with your friends.

Achievements for GTA IV

There will be no problems with opening achievements for GTA IV, we just need to start the game and open the trainer using F11. Next use arrows and Enter to select Miscellaneous → Statistics → Unlock All Achievements. If you accidentally clicked on another item, then go back using the Backspace. Aaaand that's it, we have unlocked all the achievements for GTA IV.



Since the trainer can only unlock achievements for GTA IV, but not for Episodes, you can see below how to easily get rest of the achievements using saves and trainer.

Achievements for GTA IV: The Lost and Damned

TLAD: "One Percenter"

Just complete the first mission "Clean and Serene"

TLAD: "The Lost Boy"

Load the second save from the list (SGTA401), as instructed above, and complete the mission "This ♥️♥️♥️♥️'s Cursed".

TLAD: "Easy Rider"

Load the third save from the list (SGTA402) and complete the final mission "Get Lost".

TLAD: "Get Good Wood"

For this achievement, load the first save from the list (SGTA400) and go the Race (red icon with a helmet inside). In the race you need to hold left or right mouse button, wait for a while, release the mouse button and your character will knock the opponent off the motorcycle.

TLAD: "Full Chat"

For this achievement you need to load the first save from the list (SGTA400), then get on your bike and call Terry and select Backup. Go to the nearest Gang War (red icon with an explosion inside). Then complete the task and you will receive an achievement.

Achievements for GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony

TBoGT: "Snow Queen"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403), as mentioned above, and complete any drug war (pill icon on the map).

TBoGT: "Four Play"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403), go to the golf club and hit the flagpole with the ball. To do this you need to point the sight at the stick where the flag is held and hit it with the ball (flag icon on the map).

TBoGT: "Gone Down"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403) and complete the last parachute jump (parachute icon on the map).

TBoGT: "Bear Fight"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403) and win all 6 rounds in "L.C. Cage Fighters" (fist icon on the map). I advise you to enable godmode.

TBoGT: "Catch the Bus"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403) and complete the last dance in the Maisonette 9 club (hand icon on the map). To do this go to the dance floor and start dancing. Next you need to press WASD to the rhythm of the music (focus on the speaker), hold down any two keys and click the left / right mouse button (when game asks about it). Everything needs to be done perfectly and then another mini-game will start where you need to press the buttons that will be shown on the screen. If you do everything right, you will get an achievement.

If you didn't get the achievement, but you did everything perfectly, try to do the same in the Hercules club. It is located just above Maisonette 9

TBoGT: "Adrenaline Junkie"

Load the fourth save (SGTA403). Take a parachute, teleport to Sky Fall and fly without opening it for as long as possible. You need to open the parachute when you are low altitude.

TBoGT: "Past the Velvet Rope"

For these two achievements load the fourth save (SGTA403). Next you need to turn on phone → select Missions → select "Blog This!...". Complete this task ASAP without damaging the vehicle. I recommend you to turn on godmode for the car and just teleport through the checkpoints.

Can confirm this downgrade worked for me on Windows 11. Only thing was I had to download the "Alternate downgrader" from the provided Discord link above in addition to the "Other files" folder linked here. (The downgrader from the gdrive link wouldn't extract correctly) Also, I used the gfwl PCID fix from the Discord, while also temporarily disabling 2FA on my Microsoft account BEFORE initially logging into GFWL (do keep in mind to keep your pw to less than 15 characters). I was stuck on "Please wait" while initially signing in for a few minutes, but eventually it went through and my profile was downloaded. That's more or less the order I did things. I did a quick run through to first safe house. Saved game. Went into directory and plopped the provided save files for the other DLC content and it shows. Thank you everyone!
