Foreword
The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is an incredibly well written game with a complex set of choices and consequences. Set in a very interesting constructed world where the divine has a concrete, palpable presence and where humanity is divided through a caste system and led by an ancient and powerful Empire.
The game offer a choose-your-own adventure style gameplay, and since lots of decisions can lead to fortune or ruins, I wanted to try to write up a guide on how to survive and thrive in the world.
The guide you're reading now is aimed to make Sir Brante live the life of a nobleman and judge, make him attain the nobility of the Sword, keep his family happy, let the La-Tari leave a trace of her presence, and lead to a successful defense of the Empire rule.

This guide aim to make you experience events that fits into this life, by entering the psychology of Sir Brante. It also aims to absolutely keep the Brante family alive through the entire experience, even if it would cost an arranged marriage. The Path of a Nobleman is a very hard path to follow, as it is very easy to loose your balance and start a spiral that can ruin either your family's unity, your chance at attaining nobility, or could even cost you your life and honor. This Path is a work of balance, and patience, and taking every opportunity you can to maintain your position in this harsh, unforgiving world.

I hope you will enjoy this guide, and if you're interested in a Sir Brante following the path of an Old Faith Inquisitor or an audacious Rebel, please look out for my other guides "Selection of Fate"

At least Stephan went out of his way to convince a nobleman to marry a commoner out of love and disregarding status, just like Robert did when he married Lydia.

    Final Outcomes

    Outcome of the Revolt:
The revolt is crushed without bloodshed, and the rebels who surrendered are granted mercy. The province entered an age of peace and the common estate enjoy new protections under his rule. The rest of the Empire slowly change to make everyone equals under the law.
    • Power: Gaius Tempest is the undisputed Leader of Magra.
    • Church: The schism in the clergy grew, no side wins.
    • Wealth of Magra: Magra becomes one of the most prosperous lands in the Empire. And since Mayer Egmont is surprisingly alive on this route, he will probably help in keeping the Silver mines flowing.
    • Order: Order and peace is restored through the land. People respect the law without being ruled by an iron fist.
    • Divine Omens: Nathan creates a new Church of the Twins that teach forgiveness.

    What became of...
    • Dorius Otton Died by your hand in combat. His Blood Tide is extinguished.
    • Augustin El Borne: Rewarded by the Overseer, became his personal advisor.
    • Father Lennart: Died under his Temple. Remembered as the one who provoked the Wrath of the Gods.
    • Tommas: Lived a happy, peaceful life. Remembered you always.
    • Octavia: Left the teaching of the La-Tari behind, giving people hope to escape the world.
    • Sophia: Executed by the Overseer.

    • The Brante Family: Rewarded by the Overseer. Became powerful and respected among the aristocracy. And found peace.
    • Robert Brante: Became judicial advisor in the court of the Overseer. Remembered as a protector of the common people's rights.
    • Lydia Brante: Took pride in your deeds. Died without fear.
    • Stephan Brante: Became military advisor in the court of the Overseer. Ever thankful for his family.
    • Gloria: Pulled herself from her melancholy thanks to the ties to the family. Found peace and comfort in her new life.
    • Nathan: Created the Elder's Witnesses, taught the Gods forgiveness.
    • Gregor Brante. Forever happy.
    • You: Became the right-hand man of the Overseer and the prefect of the province. Remembered as the savior of Anizotte.

So ends the life and suffering of Sir El Brante, the Imperial Nobleman, a man of peculiar destiny who kept to the principles of honor and loyalty for all his life and saved his city from the fire of the Revolt, and who kept his family safe and happy through every ordeals.

Nice Guide. Glory to Sir El Brante!

I just did this whole path and like other players it failed to include “Patronage of the Powerful” so you get permakilled by Otton. Please fix!!!

@HanNomad
Patronage of the Powerful is gained through Octavia AND Gaius. When you betray Augustin El Borne by going to Gaius for support, you should gain the destiny "Patronage of the Powerful" by virtue of being an ally to Gaius Tempest.

I cannot understand how anyone following this guide has succeeded? You can't get past the confrontation with Otton without "Patronage of the Powerful", which is gone when Octavia leaves in this walk through. Can you please update this or delete it? It's so frustrating, I'm sick of this game.

Also, if anyone wants to know, you CAN duel Stephan, become the family heir AND get the 20 valor achievement by killing Otton while following this guide. Stephan's death doesn't block anything important and the -5 willpower from the 20 valor Otton duel choice doesn't matter in the Battle for Anizotte aswell. So that's like 2 more achievements.

You also can destroy the revolt via pure firepower, the guide's choices allows that one to be picked too.

The entire Nobleman Path just seems like a hard mode for the main game honestly. Easily got the best ending on my own without a guide on Lotless, this was a whole lot tougher (pun intended)
Thanks for the guide regarleess, works wonderfully!

Followed the guide to the letter. Worked fine up until the Otton case. Couldn’t choose the court of Honor option cause I was missing the prerequisites and Otton murdered me.
_Tamarisk_ 7 Oca @ 16:31
This guide is incorrect as well and doesn't have how you have Willpower -5 as a result of The Ball choice, which ruins things later on.

This honestly leaves me feel like giving up and quitting this game for good.

@Deckem. If you kill Stephan, you cannot convince Father to support the Empire. The family stays out of the conflict if Stephan dies.

Guide works well. I’m wondering if it’s possible to follow this guide but duel Stephan as the only change.
